Your Key to Wellness
In 12 years of writing, it has never been my way to push anyone to do what I do, just because I do it. I am asking you today.
For those of you who read my blogs, you will already understand the importance of mental health, mental wellbeing and being proactive. Without taking control of your mental health you can get ill. Losing one parent early to cancer, I have seen first-hand how that works.
My ‘Universal Truth’ Blogs
My blogs are based on ‘universal truths’ intuitive and insightful, they’re your truths too, which you can take on board, or you can choose to ignore; you have freewill after all… but think about what ignoring the truth means in terms of good mental health.
Brexit and Covid-19
In Brexit and Covid-19, mental health has taken a nose-dive, it’s not on the radar, we’re not seeing it as important, it doesn’t matter, but IT DOES. In fact we know that our key to wellness is through mental health. In these times, it has never been more important that we change the way we approach and deal with mental health, to avoid the wake-up calls, to us getting sick.
The UK, lifting restrictions is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard, because now the country is in free-fall, and anything can happen. The worst part is that if you catch Covid, you have no idea what that means for you in the longer-term, but good practices can help you manage your wellness.
For those who are continuing to apply good physical practices, thank you, but to get the whole package, you also need to apply good practices so that you take control of your mental health. Without good mental health practices, your physical health will fall by the wayside.
Yes, the key to wellness is good mental health and taking control.
Whatever your practices have been:
In 2022,
Wellness equals commitment
The key to wellness is commitment to mind and body, and that starts with your mental health. Are you ready to indulge in a habit that lasts, a habit that encourages you to explore, to come to terms with and your experiences; a habit that helps you pay forward and give back, a habit that continues to give you understanding on the life you’ve lived? I’m talking books… I’m talking my books!
Pick up a Book
In 2022, in Covid, our lives are dictated by our interaction with technology, but the sensation of picking up and reading a book has been proved to make us happier and help and encourage us to make life-changing decisions. Through reading, we block out all the other noise in our head, we become centred, we become focused, we are calm.
Calm is something we should want to aspire to. Opening a book is nothing like opening an app; books are deep, deliberate and purposeful. The right books encourage us to change the way we perceive and think about the way we live our lives.
My ‘Books’
My books are deep, deliberate and purposeful. Given the state of mental health in 2022 and the fact that you are the key to your wellness, perhaps it’s time to make better choices. Today is#WorldBookDay and taking care of your mind, body and soul has never been so important.
