December 8 2016 - [⚠️: murder-suicide, intimate partner violence, gun violence] Newbury, Vt. — Preliminary autopsy results on Wednesday confirmed that a well-regarded #Newbury couple died in a #murdersuicide. Kenneth Walsh, 80, shot his wife #BarbaraWalsh, 76, and then turned the gun on himself, according to a Vermont State Police news release. Her death was categorized as a homicide, his as a suicide, the release said. The bodies of the couple were found late Monday night in their home on Welch Road. Kenneth Welch was a longtime school bus driver in the #Newbury and #Oxbow school districts; Barbara Welch had been the #townclerk in Newbury for more than 30 years before she retired in 2002. Calling hours for the couple will be held on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by a memorial service at Ricker Funeral Home in #Woodsville.
