5 comic book moments that made you go 'OH SHIT!' 321go
Man, this is a tough one. I don’t read a lot of comic books these days. I’ll have to trudge through the slop that is my memory to see what I can come up with…
Fantastic Four 317 - The Thing gets it on with Ms. Marvel…
Nothing that shocking but I remember, as a kid, being pretty taken aback when they first kissed. It was as surprising as it was beautiful.
Wolverine kills Sabertooth circa 1993…
This was the first time I’d ever really seen something brutal occur in comics. It was a true showstopper. Sabertooth is threatening to murder everyone Wolvie loves and…boom…he pops out the third claw. Definitely a drop dropping moment around that time.
Kitty Pryde becomes a super bad ass in ‘The Astonishing X-Men’…
Kitty Pryde was never really an A plus member of the X-Men to me. Her power was dope, but it’s not like she could save the world with it or anything. WRONG! She phases a giant metal bullet through the entire Earth without so much as leaving a dent. Definitely a “Oh shit! You go girl!” moment.
First appearance of War Machine - Iron Man 281…
I grew up reading Iron Man and so it’s only natural that my jaw dropped when I saw Tony’s new grey and white armour decked out with guns and cannons. It was my first taste of Tony choosing not to fuck around come packing the heat.
Earl Tubb’s death and finding out he has a bad ass daughter - Southern Bastards…
I thought Earl Tubb was going to be the hero of the series. I always thought he’d be the one to clean up town so when the Coach beat him to a bloody pulp, I was all…
Then a twist in the tale! He has a daughter. A black daughter. A black daughter who just so happens to be a soldier. “Shit’s about to go down!”
