Not sure if you already have written about this, but have you seen the Fire Island adaptation of Pride a nd prejudice (ahhh my delete button isn't working, sorry...)

I haven't, for petty and unfair reasons.

I'm sulking that even with Austen, who famously prioritizes the feelings and perspectives of women, who shows women interacting without men lots of times but almost never the reverse, the cool queer adaptation we get is m/m rather than f/f. I would ritually sacrifice kittens for a decent P&P adaptation with f/f Darcy/Elizabeth but no.

Here’s my Monster of the Week ttrpg crew! We play as a group of youtube ghost hunters who keep finding real ghost and monsters (we’ve just been calling ourselves not!buzzfeed unsolved lol).

Similar to your xue yangs meeting question - what would roaming the world and hunting down evil and dreaming of his own sect Xiao Xingchen and Roadtrip era Xiao Xingchen have to say to each other?

They would probably be a lot more compassionate toward each other than the Xue Yangs, I imagine.

How I feel about this character

like him! and I like him particularly when he's really dissected to his core, with the rare show of anger, the ambition, the guilt that surfaces in the duel with Sauron, his silence over it beforehand. the foresight and what it may entail, and his understanding of doom. there's these crevices to the character that beg for me to go in with a fine scalpel and really see what's behind the surface.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

probably Amarie, Curufin, Turgon... sometimes Edrahil under very specific circumstances (there's like, layers of power in a ship with his subject that are fun to me as someone who sniffs out power imbalances like they're coke — they're also present for a potential Beor ship buuut a lot more marked and I'm wildly unsure that's my thing unless it were written in a way somewhat discomfiting). also not in a romantic sense per se, but Sauron when I'm feeling big nasty.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

his brothers and sister, also most of the above if I take out the shippy possibilities. also Celebrimbor.

My unpopular opinion about this character

I dunno if this is unpopular but I think his role in the establishing of/contributing to elf-human feudal hierarchies is worth analysing and keeping in mind — okay wait, I have one that is probably actually unpopular and just came to me, but I absolutely don't think he's like, a naive hippie free love flower child? I see that sometimes and I don't get it (other than for the fact that he's very shippable as I likely demonstrated above lol). I just really don't believe that's him.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

okay I know saying this is like saying "what if 3/4 of the story don't happen", I know why it doesn't happen and possibly can't happen, but I'd have paid bloody good money to see him turn to Thingol, when Beren arrives laying out his romance problems, and ask him "but for real mate?"
