Synopsis: you might’ve fallen for your boyfriends best friend.
A/N: I don’t condone cheating, just thought it would make a good story.
It had been a couple weeks since you and Topper had your argument at your house, and as per usual you made up not long after. It didn’t take much for you to forgive Topper, no matter how many times you told yourself you wouldn’t easily forgive him this time.
Topper pulled up to The Wreck with you in the passenger seat. You were both at The Wreck picking up food for your parents, that had invited Topper to eat dinner at your house tonight, he of course accepted, then offered to pick up the food for them, and You tagged along.
“I got it. It doesn’t take two people to go grab a bag of food.” You said. Unbuckling your seat beat and opening his truck door.
He looked over to you, rolling his eyes, and tilting his head with one hand on the steering wheel. “What’s your problem, y/n?”
“What? There’s no problem. I’m just gonna grab the food real quick.”
Your temper had been more short than usual with Topper, but you had felt as though Topper wasn’t being logical.
It truly doesn’t take two people to do a one man job.
“Alright, whatever.” He said, as he watched you hop out of the truck and shut the door behind you.
You walked up into The Wreck, and went straight to the front counter.
You checked on the order for your parents, and they told you it would be ready shortly, you nodded at that and leaned against the counter.
You felt someone briefly brush passed you, but didn’t think much of it until he spoke.
“Long time no see, hm?”
You turned around to see Rafe’s tall figure.
“Not around much.” You nodded.
He now stood besides you, forearms propped up on the counter just as yours were, as he looked over to you.
“So, what’s new?” He asked.
You furrowed your brows together.
“What do you want, Rafe?” You chuckled,
He smirked then looked away for a brief moment.
“That’s how you treat the person that looked out for you?”
You sarcastically rolled your eyes.
“What’s up, Rafe?” You questioned.
“Look, there’s a party at kelce’s tonight. come.” He finally said.
You furrowed your brows.
You and Rafe barely had one conversation, and although he was nice, and let you talk his head off, you were drunk. Sober you would’ve never ranted to Rafe for as long as you did.
“Um...” you drawled. “Okay, I’ll tell Top.” You smiled.
Just as he was about to respond, your food was brought out in a brown paper bag.
You grabbed it and walked past Rafe. But before you made it too far, he spoke up.
“Sure, sure. Yeah, tell Topper. And you know, if he decides to ditch you again, I can take you home.” He smirked.
You rolled your eyes with a faint smile appearing on your lips, and walked out, back to Toppers truck.
Rafe was right behind you, out the door with his order from The Wreck.
You looked back one good time and unknowingly smiled at Rafe while he was walking with his head down, and turned your head back around, facing Toppers truck.
Once you got into the truck, Toppers face was even.
“What’s wrong?” You questioned.
“Why’d you look at Rafe like that.” He chuckled, lacking humor. “You guys friends now, or something?
You slowly shut the truck door and set the bag of food in the back seat.
“Like what? I didn’t look at Rafe like anything,” you nervously chuckled at Topper.
“Alright.” He pursed his lips together and nodded, as he started the truck, and drove away from The Wreck.
The whole ride you wondered what was going through Toppers mind. He wasn’t speaking, and his eyes were stuck on the road the whole time.
Even when you brushed your hand over his thigh as he drove, he ignored it.
“Top, what’s wrong?” You questioned.
You both had gotten back to your house, the truck was in park, yet neither of you had gotten out yet.
“Huh?” He seemed to have snapped out of some sort of daze. “Oh, nothing.” He lied.
“Baby…” your head tilted.
You grabbed his face and turned it towards you as you shifted in your seat, facing him.
He turned his head.
“Yeah?” He said, with a cold tone.
“Don’t be like that..I promise, you’re overthinking it.”
You could tell he was thinking about the way you had looked at Rafe.
And if you were being honest, he wasnt entirely overthinking it, but you made an attempt at making him feel like he was.
You quickly laid a kiss on the corner of his mouth, before reaching in the back seat to get the food.
You both got out of the truck, and made your way inside.
After everyone was finished eating, you and Topper made your way up to your room.
You could tell Topper was still in his head about something as you laid your head on his chest.
“U wanna go to a party tonight?” You questioned, now looking up at him.
