Honestly when I consider Ruby/Tyrian my mind immediately goes, yep, that there is some prime dead dove/do not eat material ripe for the taking. Like imagine an AU where he succeeded in taking her with him. Ya got potential Stockholm syndrome tropes, florence nightingale effect tropes where one is hurt in route to Salem and (He has a mission so can't let her die/ She is too kind to just leave him to die and things start to spiral. I could go on.

The best thing about these ships for me is getting into the dark themes around them, like I love me some fucked up stories just don't actually talk to me physically about them kjdghfdjg

I wanna sit in the corner of the room and read with a complete poker face.

I am seeing so much Dead Dove: Do Not Eat potential with those ships. On the flip side I could also see some fluff in all of them.

Bleh my tumblrs being weird with me needing to "resend my link" and so on, otherwise I would've first left a mesage in my accounts name :P I'm actually TheOperaticOne on both here and DA, so the pic I'm referring to is "Hunted" It's not really a ship pic, per say, but as someone who wanted to draw them together without getting backlash from fans. It's not like I want to draw them doing anything weird or bad, I just know that in canon he's older than her plus he's cray cray :P

Oh my god! I have seen your pic, I favorited it on DA awhile ago! I love it so much! I love the art style you have, and the spindly way you drew Tyrain’s hands. It looks so cool!

I still say go for it, people ship RomanxRuby and CinderxRuby (I ship them a little as well), so TyrainX Ruby shouldn’t be any different.  From my personal experience I don’t even see the backlash all that much, people are pretty good at keeping to themselves. What I mostly see is people saying it’s weird or creepy or making jokes about how Ruby needs to call the cops, and that doesn’t really bother me. Honestly it makes me laugh. I’ve also had some people think it’s cool and some who still think it’s creepy but like that I went out there and did it anyways.Backlash will happen regardless, that just how shipping works, heck there is already enough discord within the canon ships alone. You do you and have fun, and you’ll eventually find people who like the same things you do and that’s all that matters. Heck I’m so excited we’ve found each other! For the longest time I thought was the only Toxic Petals fan out there. I personally would be very happy to see you make more artwork for them! As for anyone who gives you a hard time for their age difference, literally anyone else besides Oscar and maybe Whitley would technically be considered an adult when being shipped with her, so that really doesn’t matter. As for the “crazy” there is already enough crazy things happening in the world of RWBY that it really isn’t that big an issue. Heck, it would be an interesting thing to explore and develop with Tyrian. See what makes him tick and just how he copes with his erratic feelings.

I'm not the same person who asked if you still shipped toxic petals. But on that subject, I also ship it, and I'd like to make more art for the two of them (I've already made one, though it wasn't technically a "ship" pic) but I'm scared of getting backlash from the fandom :/

I know how you feel! I was and still am afraid of getting backlash for Toxic Petals, but the way I see it is that shipping is meant to be fun and a little self indulgent. Someone will inevitably not like it because that’s just how the world is but don’t let that stop you from doing things you like and have fun with. These are all fictional characters, you’re not trying to hurt anyone by shipping two fictional characters together. If someone is uncomfortable with it they should be mature enough to either blacklist it or just ignore it. If someone gives you a hard time about it, block/ignore them. Yes it’s gunna feel bad having people come at you for liking a weird thing but don’t let them ruin your good time. As long as you’re being mature about it do whatever you want. And try your best to tag properly so people can blacklist things they’re uncomfortable with, that’s what it’s there for.

Sorry this got a little long, I just really feel you Anon and it really makes me sad how up in a hissy people get over something as silly as shipping. ALSO, what is this about a Toxic Petals pic??? :D I haven’t been to that tag in a while, I would LOVE to see what you have! <3

Do you still ship Toxic Petals (Tyrian x Ruby)?

Oh my god! I’m so sorry I didn’t see this till now! I didn’t even realize I had stuff in my inbox! >.<;

Yes, though it’s kinda lost it’s spark for me, and is not my top Tyrain or Ruby  OTP anymore. But I do get excited when there art for it! It’s so hard/rare to find art of them together. I love all the ones of them fighting and getting bloody. However my favorite was one where Ruby was braiding Tyrian’s hair and it was really cute and I’m not sure if the artist meant for it to be shippy or not but it was cute none the less and I love that dynamic too.
