Clown bug thing
Slowly. Slowly. Slowly.
Layering, drying, sanding. Repeat.
I ended up doing some clever needle sculpting to widen her stance and bring her arms closer together. I then needle felted some poly fill to shape her body and tail :) I love this project, I'm having so much fun
My faux-delftware Mew, from a while back!

Process shots from making my faux Delftware Mew! This kit is like, ten bucks, so it’s a great choice is you want to experiment. I sprayed it

The next toy project is now complete!
So remember on the Cobramaru project that I said there was another toy with it? Well that toy was a Captain Gundam that I was going to change into a Duel Captain. I took it apart so I could clean it and set it on a plate to dry. When I came home from work I noticed that the chest piece was missing. Did I accidentally knock it over? I looked all around the area but couldn't find it.
There wasn't much I could do without the chest so I decided to just look for another cheap Captain. I found another lot, this time with him, Baku and one other toy.
But do you know what happened? My mom's stupid dog snuck into my room and stole the piece! A dog stole Captain's soul drive! At least it wasn't too damaged.
Anyway, I decided to try for Duel Maru first instead. Out of the three in the Duel Force, he looked like the least challenging one to change.
I admit I felt like Gerbera for having to use a dremel on him. Poor Baku.
I pulled out the epoxy putty again and started working on the head first. I really like how the shape turned out.
Shadow mode!
His coloring is a bit different from how I have it on the MMD model. Didn't have those shades of paint available and trying to mix the right colors consistently is a pain. Tried that out once before and it wasn't fun.
I liked how it turned out so I moved on to the rest. Sculpt. Black coat of paint. Paint on colors. Paint on sealant. (you get the idea)
After 5 million years of painting and him being a pain in the butt to put back together (I really hate that karate chop action thing with his arms) he was finally finished. Yay! The eye in his chest could have been better but over I like how it turned out. And, there’s special paint on his eyes that’ll make them glow in black light.
here are some of my other projects, most of them only like 30% done
Nautica, made out of a Titans Return Scourge, a DotM Laserbeak and with the head of her official toy put on. I cut off Scourge’s knees and put them on the back of his legs (which look more like the front of Nautica’s legs), pulled off Laserbeak’s wings, put them on the heads of two nails so they could still rotate, cut off the lower part of the nail and used superglue to attach them to Scourge’s cloak/wing things.
And applied a lot of cheap paint with my trembly ass hands.
Nautica in altmode with her official Chaos on Velocitron toy. (and yes, I removed the little turret thing Scourge has but Nautica does not)
Maybe I’ll need to make a seperate head for her, but that would be an entire new challenge.
Oh how the turntables.
Her Ridiculously Expressive Ears I'm so happy with her 😭
