Cat from my local rescue. What is going on here? I've never seen one like it.
Oh. I don't usually go around diagnosing rescue cats with various breeds, especially rare breeds, but that's definitely an actual toyger. With the braiding and the rufous and the face and everything

Toyger Cat
The name "Toyger" is a portmanteau of the words "Toy" and "Tiger" and the associated cat is just what it says on the tin! Toygers were bred from shorthair tabby cats in an attempt to make a toy-sized tiger! The breed is the brainchild of Judy Sudgen in the 1980s who observed a common spotting pattern around the faces of striped cats and wanted to try to get tiger-like face patterns through breeding.
Gallery of a Toyger cat drawing done in a cartoon style and painted in various colors.
Tiger, my very creatively named Warriors OC. He escaped a wealthy household with a dream of living in the forest… but BloodClan found him first.
