OKAY SO Richie is the sweetest kid. He has these huge glasses on (they discovered that his vision was really bad since e was a toddler) and big front teeth with a little gap between them that Went had always refused to fix, as he thought it gave him character. He has a head full of dark curls and a huge lot of freckles on his nose and cheeks. Eddie is very tiny. He looks just like a doll and, since his mother has still that overbearing grip on him, he’s very quiet and polite (Richie, on the other hand, dropped the F Word when he was like 5). They’re great friends and they always hang out in the Tozier’s backyard, where Went had built a pretty treehouse for them.

I feel like it’s very much an old best friends for whom the romance part just went completely dry situation rather than anything nasty. I like to imagine in my completely based on nothing mind palace that maybs they run into financial problems when richie’s a teenager and wents dental practice goes bust and so it’s all too loveless and dysfunctional

as for reechie’s take on all this…i don’t think he’d be too genuinely wounded by it as it’d all be very amicable + i think he’d actively enjoy his parents being in two different houses cuz it’d be easier to Swindle them & operate his Schemes. what i think would actually fry him though is getting a new step parent he could not cope with that. i imagine maggie remarrying some completely normal but vaguely cringe guy that richie’s constantly enacting home alone type pranks on in the hopes of shooing him out
