some refs i made for an au that i was inspired for after watching Abbott Elementary. I think these boys deserve a nice domestic au.
These are a few one-off scenes I wrote for @junoinouterspace and @peach-moths 's The Pedagogy of Life AU (aka the Rottmnt Teacher AU). I wrote a scene for each turtle, but none of them really have clear endings. Just teacher turtles doing teacher turtle things. :)
Mikey
Wet clay caked his fingers, the earthy mixture bending beneath his palms as he shaped it, his foot tapping the pedal of the pottery wheel every few seconds to adjust, change, sculpt.
It was extra work, unnecessary. The lunch bell had rung, leaving the art room quiet of the usual drops of pens and pencils clattering on the linoleum floor, so Mikey had plugged in one of the wheels and centered a chunk of clay. It kept his hands busy while he reviewed his to-do list for the rest of the day.
Period 4 was the kindergarteners; he needed to get out their supply boxes and hopefully find enough pipe cleaners for everyone to make a butterfly. Then the 3rd graders, who were already working on a tasteful half-and-half project. Mikey thought fondly of one girl who was doing a half moon and half sun. She was working very hard on it; he made a mental note to hang hers up on the bulletin board outside when it was finished.
To end the day would be the eighth graders, who, like the sixth and seventh graders, only came one day a week, which meant chaos always ensued. There was never enough glue, or someone stole something of someone else's, or perhaps one kid would get upset that his art wasn't the next Mona Lisa.
Mikey couldn't complain though. Deep down the middle schoolers were good kids, and he knew their classes always contained passionate students with creative ideas. Lost in thought, his thumb created a gash in the spinning clay when he heard a voice yell through the door suddenly.
"Mr. Mike!" The young girl was peering through the door's small window, rapping at the glass impatiently. "Let us in!"
Mikey stood up, deliberately not in a rush as he began wiping his hands off. His official title was Mr. Michaelangelo, since having four ‘Mr. Hamato' s in one building was way too confusing, but many students had taken to calling him Mr. Mike or Mr. Mikey, and he'd started to encourage it, especially for the younger kids who couldn't enunciate the entire mouthful.
With a click he opened the door, and two seventh graders rushed in immediately as if the door might close again at any second. Mikey recognized them as Samantha and Thomas, students from yesterday's third period, and he sat at his cluttered desk to face them.
Samantha had short black hair, and bangs with a hot pink stripe that covered her brow. Headphones jostled around on her shoulders as she began talking excitedly. "Mr. Mike, the assembly today announced an art fair!"
He started. "That was today!?" He peered at the school calendar pulled up on his laptop, finding the assembly indeed marked there. "Aw man, Lee's gonna eat me alive..." he muttered. "What are the deets?" He pulled up his email, hoping to find a summary of the assembly news as he scrolled through.
Thomas, a komodo dragon mutant complete with triangular spines and tiny fangs, piped up. "It's two weeks from today, and they said there's gonna be an art show! To display student art!"
"Ohmigosh, that's so awesome!" Mikey smiled, brushing the dreads out of his face to high five the two students. He definitely should have gone to that assembly. "You guys are totally gonna put your art in, right?"
Samantha nodded emphatically, her bangs flopping on her forehead. "Yeah!”

Fun fact, this little drabble inspired me to design my ocs Thomas and Samantha. See refs below:
I think there was an ask for the TPOL au that talked about how Leo and Usagi are kind of a thing but won't commit to marrying each other, so I thought it'd be fun to write the idea of Leo just spontaneously buying a ring (with the intent to propose) but not really feeling confident enough to actually pop the question. Enjoy.
Leo
"Ok listen, listen, everybody listen!"
Every pupil shifted in their seat, every kid sitting straight, a silence falling on the classroom as Leo called attention at the front.
He reached into his pocket, and every single student leaned forward at their desks, stretching to see whatever it was he was revealing to the class.
Leo pulled the small black box from his pocket with a jerk, and a beat of silence followed as he flipped it open, the small silver band glinting under the incandescent ceiling lights.
"I bought a ring!" He triumphed, his students immediately devolving into a chaotic uproar of yelling, questions, and laughter. However, above it all, the clear question could be heard, repeated over and over from almost every student:
"How are you gonna propose!?"
Leo frantically tried to calm the raucous sixth graders, putting his hands out in a placating way and tucking the ring box closed. "Calm down, calm down, Principal Fujioka will have my shell if we disrupt the math classrooms across the hall." He sputtered out into a chuckle, unable to wipe the grin off his face as the students continued to talk over each other excitedly.
A sudden sound echoed from the door; it was the metallic clunking of someone unlocking it from the outside. The class froze silent, and Leo put a finger to his lips, miming: quiet.
Finally the visitor clicked the lock, and with a tug pulled the door open.
"Leo, I need to use your printer because my–" Donnie halted, having spotted the black ring box still sitting innocently in Leo's left hand. "What is that?" The students began to giggle, smothering their quiet laughter as Leo hurriedly tried to slip it back into his pocket, Donnie drawing nearer to him suspiciously. "Is that what I think it is? Are you going to propose to Usagi?"
Leo juggled the ring box frantically for a moment before he managed to get it back in his pocket. His hand fell to the back of his neck and he looked away sheepishly. "I don't know, maybe? It could just be a really cool paperweight, right?" He looked at the students for help and their laughter only grew louder.
"Oh man, this is so stupid–" Leo laughed, pulling the papers from a stunned Donnie’s hands and sauntering towards the printer.
"No no, it's not, I just can't believe you’re doing it!" Donnie began laughing now too, the lanyard of keys shaking from where they swung in his hand. "And you told your students first?" He doubled over, the kids following suit with an increase in sniggers.
"Yeah, they made me promise they'd be the first to know..." Leo smirked towards his class, the loudest of the laughter finally dying down. He smacked a stack of copied papers in Donnie’s hands. "I'll tell ya more later, hermano." He turned to face the sixth graders, and flourished his hands towards the softshell. "Say goodbye to Mr. Donatello!"
"Goodbye Mr. Donatello!" The class half-yelled in return. Donnie hiked the large stack of papers up in his arms and left the room, a chorus of late goodbyes following in his wake. Leo shut the door.
"Alright, alright, settle down, I'm not taking questions at the moment." He held his hand in front of himself, miming the way a celebrity might avoid the paparazzi.

I imagine Leo coming home and just staring at the ring box like a loser, mwahaha >:3 If they did get married I feel like Usagi would ask him first and totally beat him to it anyway
Donnie
Donnie checked his watch for probably the fifteenth time in the past ten minutes.
Each ticking second seemed to pass slower than the last, and he rubbed his eyes as he sat at his desk, struggling to stay awake while the silence of the classroom pressed in on him from all sides.
Shelldon had woken up halfway through the night with a nightmare, and Donnie was reminded yet again that parenthood took a larger toll on his sleep schedule than he could ever be prepared for. His current plan was to catch some shut eye once the lunch bell rang.
He glanced at his watch again. "Five minutes to lunchtime, maidens!"
From their respective desks, a few students looked up from their papers to nod slightly or chuckle. It was a short test on the recent genetics unit, and Donnie was confident that this class in particular would perform well, them being his most well-behaved.
But he started having doubts when he looked up again to find a student waiting by his desk.
"Psst. Mr. Donatello?" The boy whispered, his head ducked, nervous hands clasped together awkwardly. "I don't know how to do this."
Donatello blanched, reeling back a little in surprise as he spotted the boy's completely blank test. "But, Camilo, you did so well during the activity yesterday!" He leaned to his left, pulling a worksheet from a stack titled with the boy's name, next to a bright red A+.
"Well...I...I cheated on that..." Camilo murmured, his head ducking even lower, hands fidgeting in embarrassment. "And now I'm going to fail this test...and my mom won't let me go on next week's field trip..." His eyes started to water dangerously.
Donnie sat straighter in his chair, leveling his head with his student's. "Listen, Camilo, I'm not gonna fail you. We'll figure something out, but I need you to understand that cheating isn't the way to get out of things." He waited till Camilo finally looked up into his eyes. "I won't keep you after school, but just...stay during lunch, okay?" Camilo nodded tearfully, and slunk back to his seat quietly, leaving the blank test on Donnie’s desk.
He rubbed his eyes again as the bell rang, mourning the loss of the possibility of shut eye as the rest of the class turned in their tests. There was a loud shuffle of backpacks and pencils, and then they were out the door, talking and laughter overtaking the previous silence.
Camilo stayed at his desk sullenly, finally looking up as Donnie shuffled toward his desk, paper in hand. "Let's go through the activity again," he offered, setting the fresh worksheet on the desk as he sat next to the boy. "So, first we need to understand that a genotype..."
...
By the end of the lunch period, Camilo had grasped the concept and even completed the test just as the bell was ringing. Donnie took the paper and grinned at him, then watched him shyly pick up his backpack, and finally head for the door.
"Hold on, Camilo."
The boy stopped, and turned around.
"There's one thing I don't get." Donnie posed, his hand to his chin. "Why'd you cheat in the first place?"
Camilo looked down again, and the toe of his sneaker drew a circle on the floor. "I was...thinkin' about a girl." He muttered, his voice low.
The boy didn't see Donnie’s grin grow into a smile, but he finally looked up when Donnie set a hand on his shoulder. "I think you already know how to remedy that, Camilo." He winked.
Camilo slowly smiled again, and turned towards the door with a newly-gained air of confidence. "Thanks Mr. Donatello!"
Donnie waved him off. "No problem, Camilo. I'll see you at the field trip next week!"
Once the boy was out of sight he spun on his heel, returning to the quiet stillness of his empty classroom. He rubbed his eyes again, checking the lock screen on his phone to find a beaming picture of Shelldon.
Everything was worth it, in the end.

Donnie and Shelldon are my favorite little guys!! I love them so much!! The Raph one is short but I promise I love him!! I hope to see more of him in the AU!
Raph
Raph loved his job.
Never during any of his young life had he dreamed of it, never even during his initial interview process had he looked forward to it, and yet now he would say without a doubt that it was the best part of his life.
Today was one of the first serious math lessons of the year, since most of kindergarten was learning what numbers were in the first place, but this unit was about basic shape geometry. It was sure to be an eventful day when it came to explaining a new and foreign concept to his students. And Raph was prepared for that.
It started out pretty mellow, with one kid asking the expected question of: why do we have to learn about shapes? And Raph had to come up with a quippy answer. But then...
"Mr. Raph, how do you find the space inside a shape?"
He located Shelldon near the middle of the room, whose raised hand snaked back to his side, curious eyes peering expectantly up at Raph.
"Mr. Raph?"
Raph broke from the daze, trying to think quickly enough to navigate the question. "Well, Shelldon, in a few years you'll learn about the idea of area–"
"But what if it's a curved shape?" The little sea turtle interrupted. Raph stammered, stalled in his explanation as he blinked dumbly. Shelldon stood. "Can I show you it? On the board?"
Raph nodded and stepped to the side, allowing the child to grab a marker at the front. He watched Shelldon draw a simple curved shape, dotting its edges carefully.
"Wouldn't we have to find the space of all the little shapes that make up the curved shape?" He began drawing little shapes connected to the dots, marker squeaking against the board.
Seriously, only Donnie could raise a kid like this. "Shelldon, that's...a calculus concept..."
Sheldon's eyes shone up at him. "Cal-cuss?"
Raph looked up and remembered with a start that the rest of the class was still there, small brows furrowing and mouths frowning in confusion. "Something that we will not be getting into in this class. Shelldon, you may go back to your seat."
Raph patted the boy's shell affirmatively as he walked back to his seat.
· · ─ ·✶· ─ · ·
I think Donnie would totally do something like 'teach Shelldon a calculus concept' on purpose just to mess with Raph, since Raph has him in kindergarten.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed!! I really love the TPOL AU and I'm so excited to see more! The art and writing for this AU that you've created is so beautiful and makes me feel so inspired! Thanks for sharing it! :)
Pov ur parents are divorced and ur the last kid to move out of home so you get roped into "helping" ur dad clean your brothers childhood bedrooms and he learns things about your childhood he didn't know before
A late high school years era teacher au comic based on a convo me and hera had about a Yoshi crash out centered around his (almost) empty and yet somehow still messy house and being over taken with the drive to clean it and mikey being the only witness to his crash out since he's the last kid living at home
pov your dads are divorced and your goat dad has primary custody over you but you want your dads to get back together so you stayed up late watching Parent Trap for inspiration and instead ended up getting sick and your elaborate plan to get them back together doesn't go as planned (however it does get them talking again so its a start)

Teacher Au: High School Days doodle Draxum wanted to take his boys to a nice restaurant for somebody's (mikey) early birthday dinner, but Mikey, being Mikey forgot about the dinner and Donnie just wanted to stir the pot and purposely didn't dress up
Draxum would not let their bad fashion slide and had his assistant bring a pair of clothes for the boys to change into
Sketches of Casey for Rise Teacher AU
Casey and Raph attended the same college together all the way on the west coast. Raph stayed in school but Casey discovered the wonders of crab fishing and dropped out of school to pursue crab fishing (school was boring and stuffy anyway
