They watch with open awe upon their Great one, trembling with nerves and holding to their chest before the touch and blessing was bestowed. Tears dribbled down their cheeks and they nearly sobbed from euphoric delight. "O-Oh, Great One, thank you, thank you..." They brought their hands together and shook them, dipping their head down once more with reverence. "My honour is in serving you."
Lewis tilted his head as Étriqué’s tiny sob floated up to him: jeez this guy was in deep with this whole worshipping thing, weren’t they? Lewis pondered for a moment if he should play along, do the whole vengeful, evil god schtick, command fear and admiration from his tiny worshiper…ehh, even for HIM that went a bit too far: he’d be a little more formal with his little pet…
"It’s no problem my dear Étriqué, in fact…"
The giant ghost reached down for the anon, lifting them up and holding them close tp hie chest as another chuckle escaping him that sounded almost purr-like before he spoke:
"…I feel that I’m not sharing my affection for you enough: you’re so vocal, so grand with you praise and I’m so quiet…allow me to attempt to even this disparity out a bit, yes?”
Lewis gently opened his hand, resting the anon on his open palm and then gently stroked Étriqué’s back and head with the fingers on his other hand, like the little anon were a gerbil or rat…
hey Mal do you think you can pick me up and throw me at that mountain?*points to a mountain in the distance*
Lewis stared from the anon to the mountain and back, his expression somewhat...confused. He shook his head, reaching down for the anon:
"Erm, sure, anon...if you really want me to..."
The giant ghost moved his arm back, squinting as he focused on the mountain and then threw the anon with all his might...he'd probably missed but eh, he'd given it his best shot: no skin off his nose if the anon ended up dead.
((WARNING: CONTAINS ALL SORTS OF HELLA HORRIBLE STUFF: PEOPLE GETTING SET ON FIRE, VAST DEATH OF INNOCENT PEOPLE, TORTURE, GORE, BLOOD, MENTIONS OF ABUSE, ALL THAT SHIT. THIS IS PROBABLY THE DARKEST THING I'VE WRITTEN ON HERE BE BLOODY WARNED. THANK YOU.
Alright, so the time has finally come for Giant!Malevolent!Lewis to show just how terrifying he can be: this drabble is about him using the power and size allotted to him by the magic anons to finally go hunt down Arthur and get his revenge...to the FULL extent of his abilities: that mean collateral damage people, and a LOT of it.
So yea, this drabble/short-story/whatever it is is based on my headcanons (as this entire blog is, hence why I label it as/consider it completely to be an AU blog), of which the following are important points that will make this whole thing easier to understand so you don't have to go digging through my long-winded profiles/headcanons pages:
Lewis was the only child of a rich family, his mother loving but always bowed to his mentally and sometimes physically abusive father.
Arthur is a member of a large, poor family.
About 1 year into Vivi and Lewis' relationship, Lewis and Arthur both moved into Vivi's apartment, where they continued to live up until the cave incident, after which Arthur and Vivi continued to still live in Vivi's apartment together.
Vivi has vague memories of Lewis after the cave incident, and can remember his human face vaguely. Arthur has tried his damnedest to convince her that the "boyfriend" she keeps remembering the face of/small things about was an asshole and left her after a few weeks to keep her from remembering the sight of Lewis' brutal death right in front of her in the cave, worried that the memory might break her.
Mystery has not revealed his true kitsune nature to either Arthur or Vivi before this story: Arthur knows Mystery tore off his arm but only saw Mystery in dog form holding his arm in the cave.
Malevolent!Lewis would normally snap when Vivi is brought up, but with his thoughts of revenge on Arthur finally coming to fruition in this fic, he's able to better control himself and keep himself focused on the task at hand...that is, killing the tangerine fuckboy.
With that, enjoy: I'll be considering this its own little separate thing, and not, like, an end to everything with Giant!Malevolent!Lewis this week, just a fun little thing I did...and by fun I mean horrifying and painful.
Anyway, enjoy! <3))
The day had finally come: it had been four years, four YEARS of agony, loneliness, pain and suffering that had filled Lewis' hollow existence as of one of the restless dead. Those years would finally, FINALLY culminate, his sole purpose in remaining in this plane of existence would finally come to fruition...
Arthur would die this day.
Lewis lumbered towards the town, its tallest buildings two large office complexes, both of which only just barely came up to his neck he wagered, Lewis smiling to himself at that fact: he was invincible, a mammothine juggernaut that this city couldn't hope to quash once he got going.
The giant ghost had considered attacking at night, figuring his target's memories, his FEAR would best be activated by atmosphere similar to that night in the mansion...but no, NO: the ghoul had made his decision, he would attack at high noon, he wanted Arthur and every other little sniveling WORM that lived in this city to see him, fear him, know that every shudder of the earth and every echoing laugh that would tear through this town was HIS.
As Lewis approached the outskirts of town, he considered dropping by his parent's old estate: he never had had the chance to say goodbye to them...he smirked to himself as he kept his distance from the luxurious building he had grown up in, had been isolated from the world and sheltered beyond belief in...
Lewis hoped that the home's inhabitants at least glimpsed his shadow, his form as it fell over the home. He hoped that his godforsaken father at least appreciated the image of his massive body towering over the home, the prison he had made for his one and only son just before Lewis sent a single ember of magenta flame towards the building, an ember that quickly became a blaze, overtaking the building as the vengeful ghoul continued on his way.
Lewis' only other thought as he left his family and former home behind forever was that he hoped his mother died quickly: she never deserved the treatment she got...
---
Lewis' next stop was only a short walk away, fear and terror filling the streets as the town's lone news copter struggled to cover both the magenta blaze overtaking the vast estates of the north part of town and the giant skeletal monstrosity that was currently making his way through the poorer neighborhoods. The cops had long given up trying to take the monster down: bullets did nothing, what heavier weapons they could spare did nothing, and those who got too close found their cruisers crushed or lit ablaze...the best they could do was attempt to calm the public as best as possible and get people to safety...
Lewis stopped soon enough, his memory slowly turning back to the few times he'd been to Arthur's home, finally identifying the structure on its dank, pothole-ridden street. It was a shabby, broken down shamble of a home, the best Arthur's poor family could afford, his many brothers and sisters sharing rooms with him, forever cramped, forever struggling to make ends meet...no longer. When Lewis approached, Arthur's family was already attempting to fill their rusted-out car, the younger children screaming, some of the older ones defiant. The ghost chuckled as he recognized one of them, Arthur's oldest sister, one of the members of Arthur's family he truly knew, and she, in turn, recognized him...
Lewis smirked, then brought his foot down on the whole lot of them, grinding his foot with a certain kind of nonchalant malice, as one would do with a roach that had evaded them for some time before finally being splattered under their foot. Lewis turned to the news copter, making sure to smile, hoping that HE would be watching...
---
The terror in Arthur's heart had long overtaken him, his metal arm rattling as he stared at the TV screen with shock, too afraid to open the blinds of Vivi's and spot the monster himself.
He had tried to convince himself that it was a dream...but everything felt so real, so alive, so true that he just couldn't think of it as such. He had already packed up the essentials of his and Vivi's belongings, all he waited on now was for her to either come up here or message for him to get to the van outside, the woman surely having fled from work by now in downtown...
The monster on the screen smiled up at the camera, and he knew those eyes magneta were for him, the crushed car and people under the demon's feet seeming like they'd almost come from the same street as his home...no, no th-that was crazy...crazy...
Mystery whimpered, staring at the door as it slammed open.
Vivi was home.
---
Lewis turned his attention to downtown, a maze of big buildings and stores between him and Vivi's apartment building on the far side of town. The ghost chuckled: at another time, he might have considered going around that part of town, but in his current state with his current strength, it just wasn't NECESSARY.
It wasn't long before he'd put his foot squarely through the mall and had crushed a few more cars, deciding he'd give Vivi and Arthur a little time...he always loved a good chase, and he didn't give the little runts a good headstart then how could he possibly have any fun at all?
---
"Vivi-"
"Arthur! ARTHUR WHAT THE HE'LL IS GOING ON?!"
Arthur and Mystery both flinched as Vivi's voice cracked, a sure sign that she was livid.
"That ghost, he's back, he's gigantic, and he's got a human face over his skull, a face I find FAMILIAR. You wanna know why I find it familiar?! THAT'S THE FACE I KEEP SEEING IN MY HEAD WHEN I THINK ABOUT MY DAMN BOYFRIEND, THE ONE YOU KEEP INSISTING IM BETTER OFF FORGETTING, THE ONE THAT GHOST REMINDED ME OF A LITTLE BEFORE AND NOW...well, I think it's obvious that’s there’s some EXPLAINING you need to do, ARTHUR!”
“Actually…”
Both the blue-haired woman and the man ridden with guilt turned to face their canine companion, whose body was now much larger, longer, sleeker, many tails waving as the TV continued to blare on in the background and the city outside rumbled and shook.
“…I believe I might be best to explain things, but we should really discuss this in the car, on the way out of town…”
---
Lewis had to admit that, as stereotypical as it was for a being his size, wantonly destroying buildings and crushing civilians was fun. He always craved control, craved people’s fear and admiration, and this, THIS was stroking all his needs and desires in all the right places. The authorities were useless in stopping him, the nearest military base just far enough away that it would take time for them to get here…and honestly, what mortal weapon, what firebomb or missile could truly harm him, a being of vengeance, a being of flame and fire and WRATH itself?
Lewis cackled as he made he nonchalantly pushed on one of the two office buildings near the center of town, breaking and bending its form just enough to send its top half sliding, slipping, crashing to the ground as its steel struts and supports gave way to his strength. Lewis walked away, smiling to himself as he heard tons of metal and glass hit the ground, screams growing loud then very, very silent behind him. He chuckled darkly, eyes focused on Vivi’s apartment building. It was time to fix things, once and for all.
--
“So, let me get this straight: Arthur killed my boyfriend of years in a cave where a demon possessed him, you bit off his arm to stop him and this Lewis guy came back as a ghost and THAT’S who we ran away from in the mansion that night?”
“Yes, mostly.”
“No wonder I recognized that ghost then! B-But, if I knew him and loved him so much before that night in the cave, how come I only remember him vaguely now?”
“That cave was full of powerful and dangerous magic…something may have wiped your memory…”
Vivi swallowed, the others having allowed her to drive despite her usually chaotic driving skills: if there was any time to break the speed limit it was now.
“…but, why didn’t you guys ever tell me?”
“Lewis died right in front of you, brutally…we were worried you wouldn’t be able to go on remembering that death, that it would break you…we kept silent because you were happy.”
Vivi turned for half a second, looking at Arthur in the backseat, the man’s gaze locked on the floor, fear of unfathomable measure in his amber eyes.
“…so why’s he back now, Godzilla-ing it up?”
“No idea, but there’s only one thing in this town he could possibly be pursuing…”
Vivi gulped, deeply, not letting the fear show but feeling it deep down in her very soul.
“…us.”
--
Lewis sent the apartment building crashing the ground the moment he realized the van was not in the parking lot and after smashing the window to Vivi’s apartment, peering in and seeing the mess of a scramble to leave, no sign of life. He laughed deeply as the building collapsed behind him: just like Arthur, just like that little RAT to run, just as he hoped he would...this was going to be fun.
Lewis' looming height over the city, however, quickly proved to be a great advantage, the spirit catching a glimpse of a tiny, orange van fleeing for the highway leading out of town. Gotcha.
“ARTHURRRRRRRR! I SEE YOU, AHAHAHAHAHAH!”
---
“SHIT!”
Vivi swerved in between other cars in traffic, everyone in the van having heard the monster’s shout, Arthur turned around and watching the collapse of the silhouette of Vivi’s apartment building in the distance, the even larger form of spirit that now was pursuing them growing ever closer and closer.
“This is my fault.”
“Arthu-“
“NO. NO NO NO FUCK IT, FUCK EVERYTHING THIS IS MY FAULT! EVERYONE’S DYING, EVERYONE’S SUFFERNG BECAUSE OF ME! I knew it, I KNEW IT! I NEVER DESERVED YOU GUYS AS FRIENDS AND I DON’T DESERVE TO LIVE! I WISH I’D NEVER BEEN BORN, THEN EVERYONE WOULDN’T HAVE TO SUFFER! G-GOD…”
Arthur was despondent, screaming and wailing in the backseat, his sobs shaking his body horribly as Vivi continued to dodge through traffic and push the van to its limits, Mystery clambering into the backseat to try and comfort Arthur as the ground-shaking steps of the monster only grew stronger and stronger…
--
It wasn’t long before Lewis finally caught up with the van, not particularly caring about the cars around him he was smashing, much more interested in the van he’d just scooped up off of the hot, midday asphalt, tires still spinning as he heard familiar screams within, looking in through the back window of the vehicle to see three terrified faces turned back to stare at him…although he was only concerned with one.
“Hello, Arthur, old buddy, old pal…”
--
Vivi and the others screamed as gravity suddenly shifted, all of them jostled about as the monster stepped away from the highway and towards the woods outside of town, Arthur’s continued sobs and endless apologies making both Vivi and Mystery squirm.
“…I’m going to try and talk to him.”
“What?”
“It’s pointless…”
“Bullshit! If he loved me even half as much as you say he did, then there might be a chance we can stop him, or, at least, make him understand what happened…”
Arthur and Mystery had no time to respond before the van was suddenly and very painfully tossed on its side, impacting and sliding as Lewis tossed the vehicle onto the ground.
--
The giant spirit cackled: he FINALLY had that bastard cornered, the van wrecked, dropped off in a clearing miles deep into the woods, any and all help a long run away…not that they’d get away from him, obviously.
“Arthur, come on out pal…I have something I’d like to discuss with you.”
The giant spirit was shocked to see that it was the driver’s side door that opened, a…a blue-haired woman stepping out. It was her.
“Vivi…”
--
To say that she was terrified was an understatement, staring up at the simply towering monster, the vague memory of that face and the skull showing through it both making her heart ache now that she knew the truth…yet she simply did not remember him, did not love this man, this monster, anymore…perhaps that was a blessing in and of itself.
“Lewis, Lewis please: do you honestly think I’d be defending Arthur if there wasn’t more to the story? Please, PLEASE hear us out!”
Lewis tilted his head, raising an eyebrow as Mystery slid the side door of the van open, dragging Arthur out despite the man’s fear and throwing him up onto his back, preparing to run if Lewis would not hear them out.
Lewis’ raised eyebrow quickly lowered and an angry, thundering growl escaped him as he spotted Arthur, but his gaze quickly turned down to Vivi, the ghost lowering himself to one knee, his usually echoing, toxic voice suddenly growing quite quiet, quiet human-sounding and genuinely loving as he reached out, gently running his fingers along her head, almost like he was petting her, smirking as he saw the terror in her eyes:
“Oh, Vivi dear, how I’ve missed you…but, alas, I moved on a long, long time ago, and, just as you choose to FORGET about me, I’ve chosen to FORGET about YOU.”
--
Mystery was already deep into the woods, Arthur in tow by the time they heard Vivi scream, a scream that was quickly garbled, became choked as Arthur turned, seeing Lewis snapping her body like a twig in his hand, the tears already streaming down his face growing more intense, every bone in his body, organic and mechanical, screaming out for this to be a nightmare, a dream.
--
If only it were so: Lewis knew these woods, had lived in them for years: a few steps and many crushed and kicked-aside trees and he had them cornered, grabbing the kitsune and his passenger in hand, only to pluck Arthur off of Mystery’s back and shake the kitsune off and into the air as the canine tried to bite down on the ghost’s hand and retrieve the terrified man. Mystery hit the ground, hard and let out a shrill cry of pain, yet all Lewis cared about was the murderer he currently had in his grasp.
“Jeez, you guys certainly didn’t make this easy, did you? Heheheh, I can’t appreciate that: I’ve come to love a good chase…”
“You…you killed Vivi…”
The spirit shrugged, chuckling.
“She didn’t bother to remember me, so why acknowledge that we ever had anything? Now, where were we…ahhh, yesss YOU.”
Arthur yelped as Lewis suddenly transferred him to his other hand and wrapped his fingers very strongly around his body, the orange-haired man barely able to breathe, his metal arm digging into his side as he stared up at the monster…the monster he’d created.
“Well, it’s been quite a few years, hasn’t it, Artie? Jeez, how long have we known each other for? Let me see, I was…10 when we met?...hmmm, we’ve known each other for far over a decade Artie! Isn’t that amazing…”
Arthur screamed as Lewis increased his grip, feeling something shift, erupt in pain in his side as his metal arm was forced into his ribs, just getting enough air to remain conscious, a struggle greater than anything he’d ever felt before.
Mystery wasn’t taking all of this lying down, however: the canine’s claws and fangs had been applied to clambering up the ghost’s leg, reaching his hand and biting away at the toxic, hot ectoplasm of the spirit’s body, trying to free Arthur, rage already growing in the kitsune’s heart. He had sworn to protect this group, give them his love and guidance, and he had lost two of them now...
If Lewis wanted Arthur, then he would have to pry him from his cold, dead paws.
Lewis growled, taking his other hand and grabbing for the kitsune, only to have the ancient fox dodge up and around his fingers, the protective canine letting out a howling bark, tails flailing, then returned to freeing Arthur, Lewis flinching a little as the kitsune was actually starting to tear through his upper fingers pretty well, pain starting to slide up his arm.
Mystery yelped as Lewis suddenly flailed his arm out and to the side, sending him scrambling, slipping to the side of the ghost's wrist, the pain of the kitsune’s injuries from the fall earlier catching up with him now as he strained to regain his balance, suddenly finding himself in the grasp of Lewis’ other hand, being brutally crushed himself.
“Ugh, you’re making this DIFFICULT, pup.”
Mystery growled, kicking and flailing, managing to dart ahead as he wriggled his body loose from Lewis’ grasp, running up the spirit’s arm and towards the only place he could sense would do any permanent damage to the spirit: his heart. Lewis roared in anger as he realized what the kitsune was about to attempt but, alas he was too slow, the canine digging into the spirit’s flesh at his shoulder, falling down into the hollow interior of the monster’s body, scrambling not to fall too far before jumping off and just barely managing to grasp onto the tarnished, broken, cracked heart at the center of the spirit’s body.
Mystery wasted no time, his fangs, claws, and remaining might turned to damaging this, the lone gathering point of the spirit’s power and continued existence in this plane...
Lewis was in agony, a pain he hadn’t known since the night Vivi had ran away from him, the night in his mansion that had changed him forever, the spirit falling to his knees, feeling as if he were choking despite not having to breathe for years now. Arthur soon found himself scrambling across the ground, Lewis collapsed and choking behind him as he attempted to move away, his lungs still refusing to fill will air, his metal arm broken, dug into his side, wiring visible along its now broken elbow joint…
Mystery had finally broken through the shell of the heart, seeing the charred, rotted out photo within, just barely recognizing Vivi and Lewis’ faces in that worn out snapshot of a time that would never be again…with a few slashes, he tore what was left of the photo apart, kicking up and off of the locket as he struggled to escape Lewis’ body as the spirit began to lose its grip on this plane…
Lewis saw Arthur trying to escape him, and even in the midst of utmost AGONY that went beyond even the pain that he had felt in the cave that night, he reached for him, aimed to finally end him, fingers slamming down over the tiny, insignificant insect that had murdered him…
…only to have his fingers phase right through his target. Lewis’ body was breaking down, fading, disappearing, feeling his fragile, broken heart falling to pieces inside him.
Lewis’ final words were not words at all, but a broken, painful, genuinely human-sounding laugh: he had come this far, only to be robbed of his revenge, to just fade away to nothing as the man he hated above all others escaped him. It was funny, dammit, hilarious…his heart pulsed one last time, and Lewis was finally, truly no more.
--
As Lewis finally faded away, Mystery darted over to Arthur, relieved that he was alive, ready to lift him up onto his back and-
…that was when he smelled it, heard it, heard the gushing blood, the wet slick of punctured organs dripping their vital fluids inside of Arthur’s body. The man's left lung was punctured, both by his now warped metal arm and by a few broken ribs, as well as his stomach and other vital organs, and he was quickly losing oxygen.
There was no hope.
“No…”
Arthur hacked horribly, blood coming out of his mouth, as if in reply, in too much pain, too starved for air to speak.
“…NO!”
Mystery’s howl became a scream as the kitsune realized the futility of the situation: he could do nothing, no healing incantations, no hospital could salvage the situation. He had failed. All of them were dead…
Mystery approached Arthur, jaws gaping wide as he lowered his head over the man’s throat.
“I am sorry Arthur, but I will stand by this until the day I die: you were innocent, and I am sorry I didn’t get there sooner…this is my fault, Arthur…rest thee well, my friend, and may we meet again in pastures greener than those of the land of the living.”
With those final words, Mystery bit down, quickly tossing his head to the side, snapping Arthur’s neck cleanly and quickly, killing the man instantly. Mystery tasted hot, salty tears on his tongue as he looked across the carnage around him. He trekked back to find Vivi’s broken body, whimpering as he took it in his mouth, bringing it back next to Arthur’s, placing the two side by side as he ducked away into the night, nothing left of value in these woods to him, not in the town, not in this world.
He would have to find a new reason, a new group of beings to protect, someone or something to give him reason to believe that he, himself, did not deserve a similar fate to what had befallen this trio of friends.
As Mystery fled away, disappearing across the countryside in search of a new place, a new mission, a new home, he thought he finally understood how Lewis had felt all those years…
Alone, utterly and completely alone, cut off from the ones he loved...
*The anon kisses Malevolent on the cheek* That's why I wanted you to pick me up. *The anon gives Malevolent a flower crown* Happy Valentines day, Malevolent.
Lewis blushed slightly, his translucent human flesh over his skeletal frame turning slightly opaque around his cheeks…and then there came the flower crown. Oh jeez he couldn’t take this: suaveness GONE.
"Heehee, thank you nonny!"
The giant ghoul let out a happy squeak, quickly returning the kiss to the anon’s neck and head, maybe a little too forcibly, but honestly he didn’t care: he was starting to feel better after a very, VERY crappy day.
*the anon smiled before patting the ghosts' back, slowly rubbing circles in a calming manner* lemme guess, you having a rough day?
Oh shit. Oh SHIT. BACK RUBS. That was it, he was out, collapsed on the ground, fucking purring like a damn cat and just completely collapsed into a pile of contentment and absolute relaxation. Back rubs were his weakness, even long, long after his death and corruption.
There are more hushed, frantic murmurs before they lean up, holding their palms up to their master. "Étriqué, my Mighty Lord, if you wish to bless such a small, pious fool as I."
The giant ghost smiled, almost on the verge of giggling: this was great, he had his own worshiper, a little anon who’d serve him and who thought him so powerful and great…oh yes, he was going to ENJOY this.
"Very well, Étriqué, I look forward to having you at my side…"
The ghost knelt down on one knee, gently bringing his hand down to the anon and, as gently as he could, recalling how easily he’d damaged such tiny creatures throughout the past few days, tapped the top of the anon’s head with one finger, smiling even wider as he stated:
if you still need to snuggle/vent im up for it! sorry for popping up outta nowhere but i wanna help if that's okay with you...
Lewis immediately picked the anon up, cupping them in his hands and holding them close to his chest, the clinking, hollow sound of his broken locket heart almost audible inside his chest.
"All anons are welcome….yes, snuggles are good. I like them. Yes.”
