Finally dragged my butt to the movies to see the tomb raider; it was pretty good, I mean it was basically TR2013 with fewer characters and if I can be honest it did a better job of setting up her motivation and -SPOILER UPCOMING- I was really surprised they didn’t pull a galen erso and have the dad die 2 minutes after finding him. 

Was kinda bummed the dude she dragged along didn’t get to do much plot-wise, but on the other hand I was also kinda glad the plot focused pretty much entirely on her and omitted almost all of the extraneous characters. 

For a ‘movie based on a video game’ it did a dang good job of actually being related to the game it was based on. Just, as usual, I felt it could have stood on its own as its own story & original character without needing to call itself by an already known but completely different name.

Sad, but true. The TR reboot wasn’t a bad video game. I did preorder, play, and beat it. However, it did not have the feel of a Tomb Raider game. The Tomb Raider reboot can stand on its own, but it doesn’t compare to its predecessor.
