Doesn’t matter if the fish shreds the epoxy coating off your Mustad Tracershots. It’ll still work, trust me! I’ve easily put in over 100hr shore casting these beauties. Fish will strike even the ugliest of jigs. They’re attracted to the jigs reaction in the water. These flutter styled jigs can be used in only a few feet of water even 70yd from the shoreline. I just lost another one a few days ago as it was late in the afternoon and the sun was setting. I threw into the setting sun and got snagged. Shore jigging using Tracershots by Mustad. Using a 9’9” Guide Select Pro and a Helios40 with 6lb Eminent Braid I’m averaging 70/80yd. I’m only jigging the shallows without hitting bottom. How? If I use a lead egg with a grub it’ll sink to fast and I’ll get hung up. Could lose my rig and a lot of line. But jigging with Tracershots allows me to operate in a couple feet of water with no fast drops. The jig was designed to “flutter” down in a timely manner. Not just go “boom” and sink immediately. In 30min I released this large Jack, a smaller Jack and a fiesty Cuda. Never lost a Tracershot Jig due to shallow water depth. No knotted tangles. When the fish are around this system works. I’ve been using this same jig for months now. Used a 9’9” Guide Select Pro & a Helios40 Spinner w/6lb Eminent Braid.
