“Get It” is a hard-hitting yet melodic, short-but-sweet track by Tay-K and Wa$tee with an addictive repeating lyrical motif that reads as a manifestation: “Once I once I once I once I once I once I get it!” Producer DjPhattt utilizes a high-pitched, ambient synth melody in a four bar loop, as well as percussive elements like shakers to establish the ambiance for this track. Punchy kicks are all that’s needed to make the beat hit, and TayK and Wa$tee flow effortlessly over it and utilize repetition to support the melody and themes of the song.
At the time of the song’s release, TayK was only seventeen years old, and in prison after having gone on the run from the feds after being involved in a botched home invasion.
