This is the final result of my work. I’m really happy with how it turned out. I know there's definitely a lot of room for improvement like the colour grade on the 3D object could be tweaked as I do look a bit cartoonish but overall, I think the reflections are working nicely and the light seems to be reflecting correctly. the track is smooth and the slight movement I’ve added in has given the artifact a more alien feeling which I like.
This is my Nuke script. I really enjoyed using Nuke to track and comp this project. The camera tracker within nuke is very effective and using a hdri was so simple once I did a bit of research. I didn't like how the phong node worked I found it quite limiting but I'm sure if I had researched a bit more there would be a lot more I could do. I really think you should be able to use the material from cinema 4d in Nuke but I'm not sure if that’s possible.

After Effects Trouble
For some reason, although the track within after-effects were perfect when I exported it to cinema 4D, the track bounces all over the place so I’ve decided to export the model as an FBX file and use Nuke to composite it.
Me and my girlfriend went on holiday to Gran Canaria and I thought this would be a prime opportunity to film in an interesting location. I was happy with the shot the handheld movements would make for an interesting track and the composition was nice.
this is the image that gave me the inspiration.
