It's been five months since we began our journey toward the production of THIS IS NOWHERE... and we have five months until production.
Half-way point.
Typically, the halfway point in the best stories' journeys have some insurmountable obstacles that our hero and heroine must overcome in order to make it to their destination. (I, personally, love to think of 'Lord of the Rings' as an example).
Time is almost always the component that compounds the stakes of the game and makes it all the more interestingly dramatic -- and rewarding.
And thus, for us, your characters of THIS IS NOWHERE, it is no different.
We've been "on the road" with our journey together, working together in collaborative and artistic growth against all odds, pushing ourselves to make the film that we see in our heads and bringing on partners who believe in this film's story just as much (if not more) than we do.
As you, our readers, have witnessed, we've come far and established a basic team of talented and qualified believers... our Executive Producer, Kathryn McDermott, our composer, Dan Lazarescou, our small producing and creative lead team, Niko, Jon, Tracy and I.
And, now, it's on to the second half of our story - our producing journey toward the destination of production, which I like to call, "Greenlightland."
Honestly, friends, I don't have a set ending for you. I wish I had. I wish I could say that we already had the money for shooting and theatrical distribution set up, or that we have our full ensemble of actors cast.
But we don't.
We have come so far and have far to go. Still, I have faith in our artistic process, work ethic, passion for this film, and the God of creative karma who dictates that what you put out into the world will come back to you.
The odds are stacked, but so is our joint determined will to succeed.
Stay with us as we continue our journey. The plot is surely going to thicken and get bumpy as we near the climax, but never fear -- I have faith that we'll take you to a happy and solid ending.
