Elevate your bratwurst game with this Traeger-smoked version infused with the rich flavors of beer and a blend of savory spices. Perfect for a backyard barbecue or game day feast!
Ingredients: 6 beer bratwursts. 1 onion, thinly sliced. 1 bottle of your favorite beer. 1/4 cup Dijon mustard. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 2 teaspoons garlic powder. 2 teaspoons paprika. 1 teaspoon black pepper. 1 teaspoon salt. Wood pellets for smoking hickory or applewood.
Instructions: Preheat your Traeger smoker to 225F 107C using hickory or applewood pellets. In a large bowl, whisk together beer, Dijon mustard, olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt to create the brat marinade. Place the sliced onions in a disposable aluminum pan and arrange the bratwursts on top. Pour the marinade over the brats and onions, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes. Place the aluminum pan with brats and onions on the preheated Traeger smoker and smoke for 2 hours or until the internal temperature of the brats reaches 160F 71C. During the last 15 minutes of smoking, baste the brats with some of the marinade for added flavor. Once smoked, remove the brats from the smoker and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve the Traeger Smoked Beer Brats in buns with the smoked onions on top. Optionally, add your favorite condiments. Enjoy your delicious Traeger smoked beer brats!
