Happy Monarch season 2 eve
Obsess with the fact that the closest thing Monsterverse has to a main M/F is a ship between two titans. Pretty much all of "main" human x human ships in this series are gay. Mike and Charlie from Skull island? M/M. May and Cate? F/F. Keiko Bill and Lee? F/M/M. Like sure, there are M/F couples, two scientists in Kong, the couple from Godzilla 2014 (but we don't talk about that one), but they are def not a main focus. GxK has two people that use to dated, but broke up bc it wasn't working out, casually working together, no big deal, they are just friends now and it is legit so refreshing. Like imagine Miura family has some form of magic (maybe they have some conection to Godzilla the same way Chen twins have to Mothra or something like that) but unfortunatly many years ago Cate and Kentaro's ancestor accidently put a curse on the whole family and now anyone that falls in love with a member of Miura family will die tragically.
After finding out that her grandma died from a heartbreak after both her first husband, with whom she had Hiroshi, and two men she loved later in her life died tragically as well as seeing what heartbreak did to her dad after both her mom and step-mom, Kentaro's mom, died Cate becomes afraid of love. Because of that she casts a spell on herself to ensure she will only fall in love with a person who possesses certain impossible traits, with the goal that she will never fall in love. And then years later she meets May who somehow possesses those impossible traits, I haven't figure out yet what traits. The plot of KOTM is happening in the background so the whole situation is really stressful for everyone
