Jeez, you’re lookin a little pale. Have you had your Vitamin J levels checked recently?
It takes roughly three seconds for him to realize what Jim means, and he offers a lopsided frown in response, only because if he doesn't he might actually be tempted to smile.
"That'd put some color back in my cheeks, would it?"
SHE HAS HEARD IT ALL. People look at her, see the color of her skin and the assumptions are made. Gaila has been accused of being a temptress. When a guy cheats, Orion pheromones are the cause. While not the only one of her people to have joined Starfleet and certainly not the first, there’s trepidation about how much of a distraction she and hers can be. That’s why she’s glad it’s after hours: no classes, no bigots using her as an excuse. Just a bar and alcohol that causes all six valves of her heart to stutter. In her uniform, she’s a great cadet. In places like this, well, maybe she leans into the stereotype a little. She certainly doesn’t plan on going to bed alone tonight.

The world was falling apart. Burning. There were too many people with abilities now, which wasn’t a problem for him he loved a feast. But living in this world had become I M P R A C T I C A L.
Besides, he’d lived too long in this world anyway. Where so many people wanted him dead.
Sylar had, thankfully, acquired a special ability recently, specifically for this, though it still wasn’t as D E L I C I O U S as Hiro’s. It allowed him to travel through universe’s instead of time. The serial killer had tested it once, but found himself in a reality too similar to his beginnings.
This time was going to be different.
He stood in an open field, eyes shut as the sounds of crashing and burning could be heard in the distance. Sylar was so used to it, it was almost B O R I N G.
After a few moments, the distant noises stopped and he opened his eyes. There were ships flying in the sky, one’s the serial killer had never seen before. And the air? It tasted S W E E T E R. A grin spread across his face at the excitement coursing through his veins.
It had worked.
The empty field seemed to be a farm, overgrowing slightly. He walked through it, letting his hands glide over the tops of the plants. After a few moments. Sylar found himself in a noisy bar. His fingers tingled slightly, but he couldn’t do any damage yet. Figuring out this new world was a priority over killing anyone.

Natasha has pretended to turn over a new leaf innumerable times. She’s played innocent and then killed people who believed her. She’s learned that the phrase “go for the jugular” is something that works in certain contexts, but it’s equally effective to go for the brachial artery if you want a kill, to sever a tendon in the leg if you want to incapacitate, to force the nasal bone to break off at the frontonasal suture and slam back into the brain.
Her work has led her through a lot of medical technology. She is actually trying to be a good person these days, so said knowledge is applied at work to fix people, and occasionally for some exceptionally creative threats.
“I swear,” she very nearly growls at Jim, “I will squeeze your carotid until you pass the hell out if you don’t stay still long enough for me to close up this wound. It’s too big for the autosuture, and if you die, Captain or not, I’m bringing you back to life for the explicit purpose of eviscerating you myself.”
The nurse nearby looks sufficiently alarmed that Natasha quickly reels it in. “Sorry, just... lay still, please. I’ll go planet-side myself once you’re patched up enough not to bleed out on me if you want and bring the others back. Just... let me do my job.”

The darkness of the water surrounds, and if he had been in his human form, it would have been blinding.
As it is, he does not need to see to see.
His superior sense of smell lets him follow the fish, snatching a few in his jaws as he explores. His superior sense of hearing keeps him aware of incoming danger - the movement of water as prey flees predator. He is most often the predator. He has never met the misfortune of coming upon a killer whale, but he imagines he would get out of it somehow. Perhaps he would change into his human form. The orca's favorite snack is the seal, but he isn't sure how it would respond to a human - the purest humans had a way of taming things that were not meant to be tamed.
Aha-!
Another fish, caught in his jaws. Red stains the water around his sharpened teeth and whiskers, whiskers that twitch as the fish does, dying as he swallows it whole.
But the water still moves.
The harbor seal tilts his head in the direction of the disturbance, seeing only the barest hint of a cloud of bubbles. Was it?
A very human hand claws its way out of the mouth of the seal. A lithe, dark-haired, and entirely nude human appears, holding his pelt in his hand.
Yes, yes it is, Alexis confirms as he exhales precious air from his lungs, bubble floating to the surface. Something must have hit the water from above. A dolphin perhaps? Yet he hadn't smelled nor seen any packs in the area.
Folding in on himself and diving back into his pelt, he takes his seal form once more to investigate the disturbance.
