Our marvelous director-ANNE SIMON! Born 1982 in Luxembourg Anne studied Drama and Theatre at Royal Holloway, University of London. Anne Simon mainly concentrated on conception and directing, stage management and educational theatre, as well as the use of visual media on stage, she acquired her first professional experiences as a director's assistant and deputy stage manager at the Théâtre National du Luxembourg and the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen. At the TNL she founded a youth group and a theatre group for children, both unique in Luxembourg in terms of form and content. In 2007, she wins a competition for young directors (Champ Libre) with her first directing work, mixing kitchen sink drama of the 1950's and In-yer-face theatre of 90's Britain. Since, Anne Simon has been directing all over Luxembourg - at the TNL, the Théâtre des Casemattes, the KUFA (Kulturfabrik), the Théâtre des Capucins and various pieces with the independent group Independent Little Lies. In 2009 she directed her first play in Germany and has been continuing to do so. Forthcoming international destinations include Barcelona (Teatre de l'Enjolit) and New York City (The Circle Theatre) Anne Simon's work is mainly characterized by strong visual influences, elaborated kinetics and more and more often self-referencing. Electronic music can be considered as another regular element of her work. She mostly directs contemporary drama and has recently also turned to writing or collage-ing texts of her own. Simon has also a main interest in the form of the monodrama. She mainly directs in English and German. In 2009, she played her first part in a play, directing herself in "Bug". Although acting is not a main activity, Anne has been performing on rare occasions in small theatre projects and taken on small roles in the cinema. In the summer of 2013, Simon wrote and directed her first short film D. a reproduction which was released in 2014.
