You can find info on trail conditions from our founding partner @catskillcenter... . . . #Repost @catskillcenter with @get_repost ・・・ May 7 Update — Spring has arrived in the Catskills and all but a few patches of snow and ice at the very highest elevations are left. By this weekend, we expect those to melted for the most part. With the melting snow and recent rains though, trails in the Catskills are wet and muddy in places. . . . Trail Status: All marked and officially designated hiking trails in the Catskill Park are currently open to the public. All trailheads are open, and gates are open for interior parking areas. . . . Trail Conditions: Trails are snow-free excepted for very limited patches at the highest elevations. Trails will be generally wet and muddy this week. Follow good hiking practices during the spring mud season by walking down the middle of the trail, even when muddy, to avoid widening trails and creating more erosion. . . . Seasonal Roads and Gates: Seasonal roads have opened for the season. Those roads include: . . . Platte Clove Road Roaring Kill Road Russell Brook Road Mary Smith Road Ploutz Road The Gates at Alder Lake (Balsam Lake Wild Forest) and at Onteora Lake (Bluestone Wild Forest) have been opened for the season. . . . . #nynjtc #nysdec #optoutside #getoutmor #newyorkexplored #scenicnewyork #scenicny #hikeny #upstatenewyork #upstateny #trailtotap #unitedoutside #ispyny #neverstopexploring #exploremore #findyouradventure #feedyouradventure #outdoornyc #getinvolved #getoutside #escapebrooklyn #andnorth #spring #catskills #seasons #fourseasons #seasonalliving #outdoorfest2018 (at Catskill Park)
