Esperando el mitre
Panel 1 from page of Retail Vol. 2 Written by Steven Petrivelli and illustrated by me.
Why did I draw this
I always thought that the train was the most romantic way to get from one city to another, despite having ridden them more than once. Trains are the best, really: you get to sit and draw silly pictures of yourself while the landscape flies by.
On the Long Island Railroad from Brooklyn to Hempstead I am king: I draw comics, read Thomas Pynchon and Thomas Hardy, stare at the window, out at the big sprawling disaster of man-made horror, listen to Buck Owens, and generally have a good old time all the time.
ps. When the train starts a rollin’ and shaking that’s when I do my best drawing.
