Train Wrecker - Neolentinus lepideus
This is an edible mushroom of the species Neolentinus lepideus (Gloeophyllales - Gloeophyllaceae), found in Europe and widely distributed throughout much of North America.
These mushrooms are sometimes called the Train Wrecker due to their ability to colonize chemically treated wood (i.e. railroad ties).
