Plant of the Day
Tuesday 20 March 2018
The graphic outline of Buddleja crispa (Himalayan butterfly bush) against this white wall provides plenty of winter interest. In the wild, including Nepal and North India, this plant grows in locations such as dry river beds or slopes with boulders, so this plant needs full sun, good drainage and shelter. This species is not totally hardy which is why it has been trained on this house for protection - all the old flower heads will be pruned back in the spring.
