My fancomic Pokémon Kaleidoscope officially turns one year on this day - June 29th 2025! Yaay! So here’s some art to commemorate. Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart for reading my webcomic so far! Of course, Kaleidoscope’s journey goes back a little bit farther than this, though - I first revealed the project and Jaylee’s design back in 2021 on February 2nd. So it’s really been over four years for me, wow!
Looking back on the past year, I got 132 pages in 7 chapters out because I updated again just before the anniversary. And I stayed on my update schedule for the whole year! I’m not going to lie, I’m very proud of myself since I’ve never done a project this big before :>
So let’s hope next year and after that go well too!
If you haven't read the comic yet or have catching up to do, go read here! :>
Just six days left until the Pokémon Kaleidoscope fan webcomic begins on June 29th at 9 P.M. UTC +3!
This is gonna be the thumbnail on the ComicFury website (which is now ready btw! but not live yet!) and on WEBTOON. I wanted a thumbnail that's a little easier on the eyes and I've been experimenting more with different lightings digitally, so I wanted to try an art like this.
Exactly one month left until the Pokémon Kaleidoscope fan webcomic begins! Wait, is that right? Yeah it is, because I'm PUSHING UP THE DATE HAHA. New launch date is JUNE 29th at 9 pm UTC +3! To celebrate, here's the logo reveal and first banner I'll be using for the website! ^_^ The beginning of the story is gonna focus on Jaylee and Aven for a while until Zue and Kitt join in a little later.
It's been three years since I revealed Pokémon Kaleidoscope and I'm happy to announce that I've finished writing the detailed outline of Part I, so the webcomic will be launching JULY 6TH of this year at 9 pm UTC +3! Updates will be full chapters every two months and about 16 pages.
Lona region is known for its Relay League that revolves around team-based Pokémon battles. This is a story of joys, hardships, dangers and teamplay as Jaylee and her new friends Aven, Kitt and Zue try reaching towards their goal of becoming the Champion Four of the Lona region.
Platforms will be Webtoon, tumblr and a comicfury hosted website, and I'll also post updates with links on twitter. There's not gonna be a fast pass or other paid early updates, Pokémon Kaleidoscope fan comic will always be free to read online for everyone at the same time.
Hey guys I just came back from a vacation. A very special vacation because I took a trip to... Long Island! Aka the area that I'm basing Lona region on. It was so much fun and I'm sooo inspired now. So take this doodle dump from when I was waiting to get to the airport on the last day and was too tired to sightsee anymore so I just sat at a park haha.
It’s now February 2nd 2023, which means that I officially revealed my fan project Pokémon Kaleidoscope exactly two years ago. Here’s a group pic to celebrate the occasion, as well as finally some info on what will happen next in the project and how things are progressing.
The most important thing first:
POKÉMON KALEIDOSCOPE THE WEBCOMIC IS STARTING NEXT YEAR, 2024!
Or at least I hope so! Things are subject to change of course since I still have a lot of prep work to be done, but that’s the goal right now.
If you’re only now hearing about this project, check out the tag #Pokemon Kaleidoscope on my blog.
Rest of the info is under read more so that this won’t get too long fjjfjdf.
Continues here...
I did try to keep it compact. Kinda failed. But I decided to try to do it anyway. It might take a while but I can do it. *Deep breath*
Rough outline was finished last summer. Detailed outline is 54 % done. I’ve completed writing the beginning into about 11 % of the planned length of the story, as well as the last 18 %. (Or completed as much as needed for now, I mostly come up with exact dialogue in the storyboarding stage) Then there are some complete parts in the middle. But overall, I’ve planned what goal every scene has but there are still a lot of scenes that I’m not sure how I should go about.
I also decided to split the comic into two equally sized parts and I’m focusing on writing and making part 1 first. So there’s going to likely be a break between the parts. Kinda like a break between tv seasons.
I’ve also storyboarded about 7 % into the planned length of part 1, and I have some sketched or ready pages that are not all part of the storyboards bringing the total amount of planned or ready content to 13 % into part 1. I’m planning on at least making as many storyboards first as possible even if I finish writing before next year, because those take very little time but once I have them it should be much easier to update the comic regularly.
That’s all for now! I hope you will follow Jaylee, Aven, Kitt and Zue’s journey through the Lona region once it actually starts! ^__^
I'm challenging you to a Pokémon batt- I mean! To do the #PokeOCtober drawtober with your Pokémon OC(s) this upcoming October! There's daily and weekly prompts, but you can do however many you like!
