Harley stares at the figure for a long while. For once, his face is not set in an easy, laid back expression. His brows are furrowed, lips pursed. There’s a distinct air of annoyance and impatience. Anyone who comes into the coach quickly crosses into the next, not wanting to get caught up in... whatever it is that’s happening between him and the other man. He takes in a deep breath, counts until ten before exhaling.
He goes to snap his fingers in front of Cenric’s face. “Alright sleeping beauty time to wake the fuck up we still got asses to kick.”
It takes a few months before he’s finally able to clear up his schedule that coincides with Cenric’s next visit to Unova. They’ve discussed strategies in the mean time and with each conversation, it feels like he’s peeling back one page at a time about this mysterious man. There’s still a lot of things that he didn’t know about the other Trainer but they still managed to act like they were old friends, as opposed to recent ones.
Sending him cryptic images in between their more serious conversations probably played a part in it.
Still, they managed to set a date and time. Harley has been keeping his Pokemon in tip top shape for this moment, and he could feel their buzzing excitement at the battles ahead. He understands completely -- it’s been a while since he last felt a desire to just throw himself into the throes of battle, satisfying a blood lust that he thought had died out once he chose to become a normal-ish member of society.
They met up, exchanged a few more words before boarding the Double line. This is the first time he’s in here. It doesn’t feel all that different from the Single line. Harley doesn’t focus on the interior for long. All his attention is on facing their first opponent. It’s an easy enough win, earning them the right to continue. With each battle that they managed to win, he could feel himself getting more and more excited from the thrill of it all.
Then it all came crashing to a halt when he finds Cenric taking a nap on one of the seats. He paused, looking confused before going to the man.
Five minutes, he said and since he doesn’t want to seem pushy, he settles himself down to wait it out.
It’s been twenty minutes since then, and his patience is running low.
“Come on! The next set of Trainers are just begging for us to kick their asses! Wake up!” A pause. “Or do I need to kiss you to break the spell? Because I totally would.”
