Leon nodded politely and listened. Vandalism? In Pinwheel Forest? That was crazy. He had absolutely zero clue where this forest was, exactly—and prior to this conversation, had absolutely zero clue that such a place even existed in Unova to begin with—but all the same, he could appreciate the stranger's willingness to stick to the rules. It was for the best that the signs remained readable, after all, or people not quite as used to getting lost as Leon might end up getting themselves in some real trouble!
At the question, however, Leon just laughed. He had thought it odd that none of the locations seemed to match up to their drawn counterparts, but this was hardly the first time he'd struggled to orient a map correctly. It wasn't the first time he'd mismatched a map to the region he was attempting to travel, either.
❝ I was staying in Nimbasa. I always make a point to stop by the Battle Subway, though I'm never in Unova as often as I'd like to be. ❞
❝ But if you mean before that, I flew in from Kalos. And before that, I was born and raised in Galar. ❞
The remark about his intelligence flows over him like water off a Ducklett's back. He's lived a lifetime with these kinds of navigational difficulties, and has long since come to accept that his struggles—while frustrating—are by no means a reflection of his broader capabilities. Every Achilles must have his heel!
❝ I must say, you seem very well-informed. I take it you're from Unova, then? ❞
