In a strange way, the martyrdom of St Sebastian is one of my favourite subjects. Perhaps because it combines beauty and death: but not as straightforward as “death and the maiden”. I wanted to make a perspective in which he is towering and hovering over the viewer.

Instruments: Blender + Procreate

I used a 3d model from the church of St. Joseph in Vienna (https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/hl-sebastian-d59cb4016b74404a83de65e125f70093), as well as some tree-textures from Giorgione’s paintings.
