Imagine wandering through a forest. The sun is about to dip below the horizon, but evening walks are always the best: not too hot, not too cold, bright enough to see but free from pesky insects. It’s a comforting, centering experience, to lope down these old well-trodden trails that you know so well. You almost know these paths by memory. Each winding root, each low-hanging branch, each pothole in the road. True, there’s no replacing the sense of wonder and mystery you first found this place, but the comfort of having such a vast expanse of nature you know well enough to almost call it your own is a good trade-off. Curiosity and adventure are wonderful things, true, but… there’s something equally wonderful about familiarity. Coming here again and again, tracing back and forth along these old paths, gives you that much more opportunity to appreciate the place.
So imagine your surprise when, out of the evening gloom, looms something you’ve certainly never seen before on this forest trail. A flower unlike any you’ve seen before; bright blue, seeming to glow just a little in the darkness. Bioluminescence, maybe? The petals arc much in the same way as a bluebell, but both the flower and the full plant are much larger; the top of the bell comes up past your elbows. You brush the petals with your fingertips, and gasp – it’s unbelievably soft, like the finest silk, yet you can almost feel the life pulsing through it. Perhaps it’s that it’s ever so slightly warmer than the surrounding air, perhaps it’s a tiny bit of moisture or oil coating the surface of the leaves. Whatever it is, the seemingly delicate flower pulses with life.
As you retract your hand, the flower sways slightly, almost as if it’s chasing the warmth of your touch. On the edge of your hearing, you can just barely detect a low, pleasant hum, like that of a bell reverberating long after it has been struck. It only lasts for a few seconds. You tap your fingertips against the flower once again, and the sound resumes, a little louder than before – is the plant glowing just a little bit brighter than it was before? Your eyes catch a second glow, several paces away; as the sound reverberates through the forest, it’s lighting up other flowers just like the first, separated by several paces each, like a trail of slightly glowing, softly ringing breadcrumbs.
You glance back to the familiar trail, wondering if you should simply continue on with the path you know, rather than rambling through the underbrush, chasing the pretty lights. You could stick to the familiar, of course, take comfort in the world you know, safe and unperturbed. But your curiosity tells you otherwise. It’s like an itch in the back in your mind, nothing as coherent as a thought, more of a deep, primal itch to discover new things. It’s that primal itch which drove your ancestors to roam the world as nomads, that burning instinct which drew them out of the relative safety of their caves.
You plunge into the undergrowth, following the combination of the gentle ringing sound and the soft blue glow. Each time you pass a new flower, your fingertips brush it again, a comforting rhythm which keeps you safe, keeps you on track, illuminates the path ahead. Your worries about losing your way quickly become quieter and quieter, drowned out by the sweet sound of the little floral bells. You could always turn back, if you wanted to. The flowers would keep you safe, guide you back to the path you knew. But of course, you didn’t want to turn back. You wanted to explore, to dive deeper into the wild, indulge yourself in the mystery of these curious little plants. And besides, the feeling of your fingers brushing against that wonderfully soft surface was more than enough reward to motivate you to move further, deeper, closer to the next one, and the next, and the next.
The flowers come one by one at first, but now that you’ve been following them for a few minutes now, you notice that the gaps between them are getting smaller and smaller, they’re getting closer and closer together. Or is it simply that you’re plunging deeper and deeper into the forest, so inexhaustibly curious that you’d throw caution to the winds and speed up your hunt for… what? What are you hunting for? What are you searching for? Why do you feel that need, that itch, that craving to go deeper and deeper into the forest? The bells have started curving towards you, even before you touch them; can they sense your presence somehow? Are they somehow aware that they’re pulling you further into the forest by a yoke of your own curiosity?
And not only are they coming closer and closer together, they’re beginning to come in small clusters. Just two at a time, at first, but then three, then five, more and more. Little families of bell-like flowers, all singing their strange, otherworldly song. The ringing is quite distinct now, but it’s far from overpowering; in fact, it’s quite pleasant on the ears, a little chorus of bells cheering you on your way as you plunge ever deeper into the woods. The increased numbers of petals brushing against your hands is blissful; at times, it feels like your whole hand is enveloped in satin, as though the petals are deliberately curving to almost suckle on your fingers.
You stumble for a moment, your foot getting caught on some root you’d failed to see beneath the ferns. Your cheek brushes up against an outstretched bell, just for an instant, and a warm tingle of pleasure bursts out from your face. Pausing, you bend down again, and the flower rises up to greet you, caressing your lips. It’s so soft, so wonderfully pleasant.
You get down on your knees to get a better feel of it. You’re not sure if you’re moving yourself, moving it, or it’s moving entirely of it’s own volition, but it continues exploring across your cheeks, stroking your face so wonderfully softly. It’s such an enthralling sensation you almost forget about the flowers still suckling at your fingers, brushing up against any bit of exposed skin they can find. The ringing is so loud now. There must be flowers curled up right next to your ears. It’s drowning out any thought you attempt to have, the music of the forest overpowering any sense you try to make of this situation. You roll over onto your back, and the flowers follow. There must be… ten? Twelve? Fifteen? Are more and more coming? You’re rapidly losing count. It’s so hard to keep track of them all while any exposed skin is being tenderly caressed by those satin-smooth petals. Nose, lips, cheeks, neck, fingers, hands, wrists, forearms, stroked and kissed and sucked by these bizarre petals. The glow is so bright it illuminates the whole glade you’ve found yourself in, a glade entirely unfamiliar to you.
Some reasonable corner of your consciousness realises that you’re lost, deep in the forest, lost to the sound, lost to the light, lost to the feeling. Your body is lost to the forest. And you’re slowly losing your mind to these flowers, too. Perhaps they’ll release you, once they’ve had their fun. Perhaps you’ll be able to wake up, find your way back to the well-trodden trails you know. But will you ever be really sure all of you has returned? Will you ever be sure that, when you leave, if you leave, you’ll ever find every piece of your mind to bring back to the world you know? And you’ll know, deep in your subconscious, that you know exactly where those parts of your mind, those parts of yourself are kept. They’ll be kept here, safe, by the flowers of the forest. And if you want them back, well, of course that just means you’ll have to come back here again. And again. And again…
Lots of cute fluff of a hypnotist/sub having fun. Contains some trancey language, though it’s deliberately distinct from and much weaker than my usual inductions since trance isn’t really the point here. Enjoy!
Somehow, Alicia had managed to throw a surprise party for Julianne, without any indication whatsoever beforehand.
Despite the fact that Julianne literally hypnotised Alicia on a daily basis. Being able to keep everything secret - especially since some of this had clearly taken quite a bit of planning in advance! - was, frankly, impressive, and certainly the prank of the year. Especially since the party hadn’t even been for anything, too! Her birthday was three months away, Alicia’s was even longer, she hadn’t had a promotion or anything! It just... happened. And Alicia had even managed to capture her expression on camera, the brat.
Which is why Julianne was determined to reciprocate in kind. She would do anything to see that same incredulous laughter on her sub’s face: no one, especially not Alicia, was outdoing her on surprises.
Julianne was glad Alicia was too excitable to notice the evil smile on her face as they walked out of the cinema together.
It had been a mostly light, fun movie, but there was one scene in particular... As soon as she saw it, Julianne’s mind began racing and didn’t stop. She barely paid attention to the rest of the movie - she was too absorbed in trying to plan how best to create the moment that the movie inspired.
Unfortunately, that scene had been quite early in the movie, so Julianne couldn’t do much but nod and smile as Alicia bubbled on and on about the movie and everything she’d loved about it. But fortunately, she hadn’t seemed to notice the same moment Julianne had.
All the better a surprise, that way.
~
She started her dastardly plan the next day as soon as she got home from work. Alicia was already there, currently... sitting on the sofa looking tranced out. Right.
“Rough day, pet?” Julianne asked quietly, setting her bag down and sliding out of her shoes before she walked over to the sofa.
“Mhmmmm,” Alicia murmured. “Too much yelling.”
“Always a danger in customer service,” Julianne said, stroking Alicia’s hair. That was one of the stronger associations she used to signal trance, going back to the very beginning.
Alicia sighed into the touch, slumping a little as she fell further into trance.
“Good girl,” Julianne said. “That’s it, just sleep for me and I’ll take care of you, alright?”
Alicia barely nodded. She was falling quick, today, but stress tended to do that.
“Alright, darling. Today I want you to imagine your mind like a landscape, rolling hills of green, meadows of flowers, and I’m a river flowing in one side and out the other, okay? And right now you’re just sitting by it in the shade of a tree, enjoying the cool breeze and the relaxing sounds of the water burbling past.
“And it’s just so lovely that you decide to start wading into the water. Not very far, since it gets kind of deep in the middle, but just enough to feel the water around your ankles.” Alicia sighed contentedly. She was so adorable like this, honestly, Julianne couldn’t even- no. Focus.
“And feel how the river just starts to wash away your memories of the day. Not permanently, not completely, but letting the river take the burden of them. And it feels so nice, just washing away, leaving you calm and happy...”
Julianne continued in that vein, letting Alicia wade deeper into the river and washing away more memories - not everything, just anything she didn’t really want right now. And whenever she wanted, Alicia could come back to the river and add more memories, or take back out the ones she needed.
That was good enough for now, and Julianne could hear Alicia’s stomach rumbling. It would take a lot of reinforcement, but the foundations were there now.
~
“Thank you for today,” Alicia murmured sleepily as she curled into Julianne.
“Of course, my darling,” Julianne replied, running her fingers through Alicia’s hair. A light trance always helped Alicia to sleep sooner, though they were both tired enough that Julianne wasn’t sure
“Darling?” Alicia questioned. “That’s a new one, isn’t it?”
“Do you like it?” Julianne asked. “You are darling to me.”
Alicia’s only answer was to hum and snuggle closer, which Julianne took to mean that she was getting trancey enough that she’d rather cuddle than talk.
“Good,” she said softly. “Just let everything flow into that river from earlier, all your stress and worry and memory until all that’s left is sleep. Just let me take it all away, darling.”
~
Then there was the reinforcement. So much reinforcement - but Julianne was nothing if not thorough.
The river became a consistent metaphor over the next few weeks. Pulling away worries and memories (including some experiments with memory play, which they hadn’t tried all that often before), wading in deeper and deeper as an induction, making it mean safety and warmth to dive in... and occasionally, taking Alicia in so deep that the river filled her lungs and she “drowned”, sort of, but it was more like getting filled up with the water and possessed by it. Which had been... very fun, especially since Alicia wanted it, but still would blush like hell when she came out.
~
Soon, Julianne thought as she stroked Alicia’s forehead. She’d started using a new induction: having Alicia keep her eyes on the tip of her finger as it stroked from between the eyebrows all the way to the tip of that adorable nose, over and over. Eye fixation was always fun, and Julianne particularly liked the imagery of every brush of her finger making Alicia’s eyelids heavier as if she were literally closing Alicia’s eyelids with it.
But her mouth and her finger were on autopilot as she deepened Alicia’s trance, so her thoughts had plenty of time to wander. Tomorrow, maybe? I think she’s ready. I hope so, because I’m not sure if I can wait any longer.
~
Julianne hid her excitement as she headed in the door. She couldn’t wait to see Alicia’s expression after this.
“Hey, I’m home,” she called. She found Alicia curled up with a book, almost completely absorbed in it.
“Oh! Hi!” Alicia chirped, after a moment of readjusting to not being in fantasy-land. “How was your day?”
She wasn’t really in the mood for small talk, and Alicia would have already told her if anything was urgent so she didn’t get tranced and forget. “Sleep.”
Julianne smiled. It was always gratifying to see her sub drop so quickly. The question was whether she’d stay down after this.
Julianne got out her phone, made sure it was open to the right screen, and set it down within arm’s reach. Then... one last reinforcement, making sure the idea was fresh in Alicia’s mind. She made sure Alicia didn’t drop too deep, though - Julianne wanted her to be able to realize what was happening, even as she felt unable to resist the effects of it.
Then Julianne reached over, pressed “Play” on her phone, and began to sing. “Where the north wind meets the sea...”
Alicia stirred a little at that, blinking sleepily in confusion.
“There’s a river full of memory,” Julianne continued, grinning and moving a little closer. Alicia’s eyes flickered closed again for a brief moment, but then her brow furrowed and she began to sit up. “You-” she managed.
“Sleep, my darling, safe and sound...” Julianne started stroking a finger down Alicia’s nose. Just like in the movie.
“What,” Alicia whispered softly. Julianne grinned as the conditioning paid off - Alicia couldn’t quite manage to bring herself up, though she was clearly trying.
“For in this river, all is found.” Alicia’s eyes were flickering, her breathing quicker as she tried to resist the imagery flooding her mind, the thoughts of peace and warmth in the river. “In her waters deep and true...”
“What the fuck,” Alicia managed weakly, but Julianne didn’t stop singing.
“Lie the answers, and a path for you. Dive down deep into her sound...”
And Alicia slumped again. She was still fighting, but she knew how diving into the river felt. It felt wonderful and safe - and most of all, it felt like trance.
Julianne grinned. “But not too far, or you’ll be drowned.”
Alicia whimpered, and fell. If she was resisting, it certainly didn’t show anymore. Absolutely beautiful.
Julianne let her wake when the song finished, grinning like a madman the entire time.
“You- you-” Alicia stuttered for a moment. “You planned this! All that time, that river - it was all for this? I just- I can’t-” she broke into laughter, and Julianne joined her.
“You should’ve seen the look on your face,” Julianne said smugly. “That was worth every last second of the work it took.”
Alicia leaned into Julianne, still shaking a little with laughter. “One problem, though.”
“Oh?”
Alicia giggled. “You made it so I can never watch Frozen 2 again.”
“...ah. Good point. We’ll have to fix that.”
~
I hope you enjoyed? Kind of requires having seen Frozen 2, or at least heard this song (which is at the very start of the movie, and isn’t really spoilery at all). If you didn’t get that part, I hope you enjoyed the cute hypnosis fluff, at least!
Inspired in part by @consensualhypnofics and just generally wanting to write fluff.
I promise that most of my stories won’t be elaborate setups to a punchline. Probably. Hopefully. We’ll see?
I’m going to be honest with you Anon, I’m not sure how to really do this one. It’s been in my inbox for a while and though I’ve mostly been going chronologically, I’ve been kind of stumped by it. I debated doing an induction-type writing like I did with a few others, where I’d get you to follow my words and listen for the meaning and intent behind it rather than any specific story, where I’d just kind of lead with an innocuous statement and start to wrap my words around you, the reader, yes you, you the one hanging onto my words, a bit confused maybe but mostly wanting to read further and further to see what kind of induction I decide to come up with.
Eh, or maybe I won’t. I’m pretty worn out today. Been preoccupied with some stuff, other things weighing in my mind, almost like the way my words have been slowly sinking for a while now even when I’m not being explicitly trance-talky at you, even when you think you’re just reading an explanatory ask about how I can’t answer this, how I couldn’t possibly tell one story while weaving words and speaking to another part of you, the part of you that gets sucked in every time I shift gears and the part of you that might be wondering where I’m going with this, but the part of you that doesn’t really mind, anyway, as long as we get to that destination of trance…
It was pretty amazing. I still think about it now and then.
You don’t think about it, or you don’t remember?
What do you mean you’re not sure?
Do you not remember, or is it so far past that it just doesn’t come up?
How long ago was it, anyway? It seems like it could be yesterday or at least last week.
Time’s weird that way, you know, how our mind grasps it and then doesn’t?
It feels like the memory is tied to a particular second and as that second passes by the memory is pulled back with it, but when you recall it it attaches to the current second that’s already pulling away.
It’s like each time you replicate the memory for this little piece of the timeline it loses a bit of its fidelity with the original?
You obviously remember the important stuff, though, but when you got hypnotized that was important, too, or at least it seemed that way.
Maybe it wasn’t that important to remember after all.
