Today’s painting :)
The blasphemous atrocity of Death metal in action! Great quality footage of Degial performing last month in Puerto Monnt, Chile.
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5
Cast away from you all your transgressions, in which you have transgressed; and make yourself a new heart and a new spirit: for why will you die, house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him who dies,' says the Lord GOD: 'therefore turn yourselves, and live.' - Ezekiel 18:31-32 | New Heart English Bible (NHEB)
Psalm 51: 1-3; 10-11
(Psalm 51: 1-3)"Have mercy upon me, O God,according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me."
(Psalm 51: 10-11)"Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me."
I'm going through a difficult situation. I have come to God and asked for forgiveness for my sin. I ask that He renew me into the woman He wants me to be, I ask that He give me a hunger to be that woman. I want to live the way that He wants me to. I have never been happier with Him in my life, and I do not want that to end. He has never failed me, I fail Him. I want to be made new. I put behind my old ways, and cleanse my life of things that are keeping me from God. I need to make a change, and now is the time. i can't move on with my life until I do.
He was pierced for our transgressions
It was after the fact that Jesus had died on the cross for us that He was pieced in His side. After we have been forgiven, and we choose to go against Gods ways is a transgressions. A sin of a Christian is terribly more disgusting than a sin of a sinner, for we have seen the goodness of God. Do you think God smiles at sin and transgression or do you think its an ache in His side? The amazing part, He continues to love us all endlessly!
New Media Transgressions: Privacy on the Internet
The interrelationship of public life and private life has existed for decades; however with the emergence of new media has progressed to an entirely new level (Thompson, 2011, p50)
The issues of privacy on the Internet are not only relevant to public figures, but anyone with an online presence (Leong, 2012). Social networking sites such as ‘Facebook’ provide a platform in which the exchange of personal information is as easy as a click of a button.
As seen from this clip on’ The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, and from the countless accounts of people being fired over a post they made on Facebook, it is clear that what you post online can be seen by people that you didn’t anticipate and therefore using social media should be done with extreme caution.
As Deputy-Chief Magistrate, Jane Mottley explains, “Incalculable damage can be done to a person's reputation by the irresponsible posting of information through that medium,” (2012).
In addition, stories such as Ruth Jeffery's demonstrate that people need to be aware of online consequences even if they themselves are not providing content.
Only since exploring new media transgressions have I come to realize the extent to which the Internet can negatively impact someone’s life. While yes it can be out of someone’s control, it’s important to be informed and cautious, so we can try to keep the distinction between public and private as clear as possible.
Brodie’s blog also offered further discussion into the matter of privacy. The fact the people are so opening sharing such private information is also very concerning to me. It myself am quiet reserved with what I share on Facebook but it is increasingly clear that people are more open to disclosing private information. I think online safety education is a key aspect to the new world of media and should be introduced immediately.
Further discussion can also be seen in Jonathon’s blog
