ok but what if

Anyone who’s half Galran is born a female. If a being is half Galran than they are female. But both Lotor and Keith are men. So what if both of them are trans. This could explain why Lotor was exiled, because when he was transitioning he got sent away. But Lotor was always the best person for anything they needed, so with Zarkon out of commission they finally resorted to bringing him back.

Trans! Lotor Headcannons.

He first started growing his hair out when he was 10

And that was when zarkon started to distance himself from his son

When lotor’s put on that planet he was given to rule( the one where he uses the different methods)

He meets another girl who he becomes like best buds with and he finds out later what she is trans

And he take a while to understand it but he fully accepts her and still loves her

A while into his rule of his planet he starts to realise that he too is a girl

So he talks to his friend who is really supportive and introduces him to like a bunch of people of different genders

And they all talk through is with lotor

And after like one or two months he’s thinks fuck, I really am a girl

But unfortunately before he could transition

Zarkon found out about the planet and banished lotor and killed the planet

Lotor can only be themself around his generals at first because they’re the only people that know

And if he told the empire he wouldn’t be left alone anymore, he’d be a target

All of his generals immediately accept him because they have all suffered abuse from being half breeds

So even if it takes a few of them a while to understand it they still accept them

They have regular girls nights where they paint nails and do hair to make lotor feel accepted and loved for who they are

When he has to leave his generals he’s heart broken because he dosent think he’ll find anyone who’ll accept them

And they’re heart broken but the war continues

When they first join voltron obvs they’re locked in the cell but when they’re let out and the team start to trust them he learns about them

So when they find out about lotor they’re like omg tis fine we’re all queer here

And they start using the she/her pronouns for lotor cos they make her feel better

The girls night resume but this time with Allura, lance, pidge and hunk and even occasionally Coran

And lotor learns even more than when she was with her old friends and she’s so happy because she knows that no one here is going to judge her or think she’s less capable than anyone else

Lotor shows lance her shampoo and they bond over hair care routines

And for the first time since her first friend she feels like she’s amoung people who truly understand her.

And obvs they teach her about sexualities when she accidently walked in Keith and lance kissing

as she wasn’t disgusted or anything just confused as she was raised in a very prejudiced environment

And she’s obvs very supportive

And accident realises she’s bisexual when she realises she’s equally attracted to lance and Allura cos let’s face it who dosen’t
