In my head, the Candace suit represents Buford expressing and experimenting with their trans identity. They were so happy to get to be Candace. And the moment with the dress??? That suit is trans joy for them.
But then. Then in attack of the Candace suit the rest of the gang tried to kill and get rid of Beatrice (Candace suits name!!) while Buford was left as the only one trying to defend it.
And idk, those two things combined did something to me that I don’t think can be undone
