Summary:
An eighteen year old Loki has left the orphanage to attend university. Determined not to leave his brother behind, he tries to balance work, study and his application to adopt Crowley.
Excerpt:
“Crowley–” Loki began, his voice tinged with worry.
“Don’t start. It’s fine.”
But it wasn’t fine. And Crowley was tired of trying to explain it. On the phone to Loki, with teachers. He was sick of being wrong and broken to other people all the time.
Loki stopped a few feet away, his feet crunching on the frozen grass. Crowley didn’t turn to look. He couldn’t stand to see the worry, or worse, disappointment, on Loki’s face too. Instead, he focused on his breath rising in front of his face with every exhale. His hands trembled as he brought them to his mouth to warm them up, and he hated that too. How his body betrayed how rotten he felt inside.
He heard Loki’s voice again, sounding unnerved. “You can always call me, if you need someone to talk to–”
Crowley let out a short, humourless breath. He didn’t have it in him to even pretend to laugh. “What for? You’d just tell me to hang in there. That everything will be okay.”
He didn’t mean for it to come out so sharply, but he couldn’t help it. “That stuff doesn’t fix anything, does it?”
He felt a vague savage triumph as Loki winced at his words. “I’m trying,” he said, quietly.
“Heard that one before.”
“I didn’t come here to argue,” Loki said, stepping closer. “I came here to tell you I’ve started the adoption paperwork. To take you home.”

whether you think he’s open about it or not, or feels shame for it or not, or WHATEVER, it is clear that dean would be aware of this fact about himself.
