Daisuke and Anya bonding over both being trans, Anya more so in a way of not caring about gender at all while Dai is used to his less then supporting family now unsure what to do to pass on the ship. Anya teaching him tips and tricks she'd picked up along her own gender discovery, the first person Daisuke told on the ship. The coming out he'd have with Swansea tearing up as he told the older man just to be met with the support he should've known would come. Swansea not batting a eye and simply asking for his wrench because sure he's older and doesn't fully get it but it makes Daisuke happy so hes happy. Swansea who sees Daisuke as another child of his to teach and nurition and Daisuke who needs that kind of love so badly, used to his fathers love which was given in gifts and not with much else. Jimmy and Curly who never knew, Jimmy never questioning it either, Curly who never connected the dots, not being told until after the crash. Daisuke simply telling him during a time Dais was watching Curly while Anya was taking a break, Dais who said it was a smile insisting even if he doesnt know if Curly his captian accpeted him or not and insisted it was okay because at least he wouldnt be told Curly didnt accept him. A Curly as cruel as Jimmy who'd misgender him and demean him the same way Jimmy only ever called Anya a girl. It was just another way Curly knew he'd failed his crew, Anya and now Daisuke too, maybe even Swansea if the older man would tell him now that he couldn't ask. All people he failed to keep the peace and appease his 'friend' Jimmy. Just trans masc Daisuke man.
