I've done ballet for 22+ years out of my 30 years on this planet. Today, I know that one of the leads in the local ballet I am in is a trans man. I'd never met openly queer dancers before, so I certainly hadn't seen them accepted at a studio, especially in a way that casts a man in a role on pointe while also not questioning that he is a man. Happy Pride, it keeps getting better, even these days

recently I have been more involved with my art of dance and have been thinking of posting a few things about it and telling all of my silly, fun facts that I find really cool, since I have lost ideas for posting. So, to start off:
Recently, in my school classes, we have been assigned an excerpt from a book speaking on the art of choreography and how articulate the process can be. We only made it up to two steps and those were about two-hour conversation on just the first two steps and how to take action on them and how the thought process should be. The step that I found the most interesting out of the two was the first step which makes you think of the concept you have for the choreography as a problem that you need to find a solution to. As we discussed more about it as a group it really opened a perspective of how to start choreography. Anyway, cool fact I wanted to share there's more I'm going to learn and will keep you updated! :3
