Kai walks up to Dex and sits down. Dex tenses up and starts to smother the cigarette in his hands.

Kai : You're going to need that in a minute.

Dex : ( sighs ) What did our nerd say to you?

Kai smiles, she likes that Simmons is their nerd.

Kai : So you weren't going to tell me that Gloria's being mean to you?

Dex draws hard on his cigarette. She was right about him needing it.

Dex : Don't call her that. She's still your mom.

Kai : Don't you mean, our mom?

Dex : ( hesitantly) No.

Kai tilts her head, and Dex scoffs.

Dex : Ok. I'll tell you, but it's going to piss you off. And you can't do shit about it.

You still want to know?

Kai : ... Tell me already,Bitch

Dex chuckles and sits down next to her.

Dex : So, you know how Gloria was the fat lady and the bearded lady?

Kai : Yeah.

Dex : Well,the woman got it in her head that I was going to take up the mantle and become the next...that. so when I came out as a boy, it put a wrench in her plans for me.

Kai : Shit.

Dex : and she's never quite forgiven me for betraying her and ruining her dreams.

Kai opens her mouth to interject but Dex adds.

Dex : Her words, not mine.

So yeah, Gloria refuses to acknowledge me as her son.. and definitely doesn't claim me as her kid anymore. She keeps telling people you're an only child. Just not in front of you.

Kai : Oh. You're right. I'm pissed now. I want to go punch her.

Dex : But the money she gives you helps pay for your student loans. So just... let it go. It's not-

Kai: Dex.

Dex flinches, she leans over, and pulls him into a hug.

Kai : You're the best big brother a girlie could ask for. It sucks to know Gloria's a piece of shit.. but, I can't just ignore that she hurt you.

Dex : I...she...I'm fine.

Kai : You're lying! This is killing you.

Dex leans Into Kai's shoulder and weeps.

Kai : It's okay now. I'm here for you, Bro. You're great and if she doesn't see that then Fuck her.

Dex tightens his grip on Kai and cries harder.

Anyway I know I've mentioned before how I don't really care for trans Tucker cause most people just use him being trans as a plot device for how he could have an alien baby (and not considering any of the ramifications of that) but then I remembered something else

Tucker has a really transphobic line about Grif's first girlfriend having a dick back in season 7/8 (I don't remember the exact context tbh but I know it was supposed to be haha Grif dated a chick with a dick) and Grif just goes "I told you that in confidence!"  

I  know it was just a shitty joke from RT but it also makes me uncomfortable having Tucker for trans representation after that

Also idk why Grif shared that with Tucker but to stray into headcanon territory a little it could have been trans Grif testing the waters like do I want to tell Tucker I'm trans maybe casually mention you had a trans girlfriend and then Tucker is like "your girlfriend had a dick?" and Grif just goes nope abort mission fuck this

which would kind of make it extra shitty tbh
