TW FOR SCARS AND MENTIONS OF ABUSE
Daniel and Hela (later known as Dee and Heavy respectively) are the children of Gustav Shvagenbagen. At the time of episode 9 and 10 Daniel is 16, Hela is 14.
Daniel is the oldest son and while he is extremely intelligent and succeeds in nearly everything he’s put in- he was unfortunately not born with the Family’s Hereditary Musician trait. Therefore he is unable to carry on the family’s musical legacy. Instead Hela must take on that role instead even though she is a girl. Gustav often refers to Daniel as “A waste of a first born son” because of this.
On the day of Hela’s musical exam (an exam Daniel took 23rd place in) he is told to accompany her to the Conservatory to make sure she gets there and places 1st. Daniel obliges but on the way there runs into a girl who scares him by jumping out of the alley way when he walks by. She tries to strike up a conversation but is uninterested until she eventually manages to catch his attention by insulting him. Then playfully flirting with him and telling him he looks “like a bastard-I like that” before she takes off when they reach the observatory.
Hela ends up taking 2nd place (She intentionally makes herself fail-reasons to be explained later) and both siblings are punished for it. Daniel even more so when it turns out he is missing the pocket watch that Gustav had given him.
Daniel, realizing it must have been the Mysterious Girl he talked to earlier, goes off to find her the next day and indeed does. She tries to run away but after he catches her and tells her he needs it back or he’ll be in trouble, she gives in. But! Only IF he helps her make up the money some other way. He’s confused but she asks if he’s a smart guy with computers and espionage. He says yes. She asks if he has any moral hang ups about black mail....he eagerly asks her to go on.
