sportacus & robbie + 22........ 🥺
Hope you don’t mind me using this as an excuse to write trans Lazytown again ;)
Powered by an original invention by Pixel and Robbie, the “It’s A Girl” banner that stretched across the entrance to town hall flashed pink and purple alternately. The kids all wore trans pride buttons and the cake Stephanie had made was decorated to match. Pink balloons all but covered the ceiling.
Currently, no one was looking at the decorations. They were pressed against the window, watching Bessie’s car pull up.
“Okay, everyone,” Robbie whispered as the passenger door opened. “Three... two... ONE!”
Everyone, lead by Robbie, ran out the front doors and cried “SURPRISE!!!”
Sportacus, who had barely stepped out of the car, jumped and stared opened mouthed at them all. Bessie came around the hood and gave Sportacus an excited hug.
“What... what is...?” Sportacus stammered.
Stephanie skipped up, beaming. “Now that the human government recognizes you as a girl, we wanted to celebrate!” She pointed over her shoulder. “It was Robbie’s idea.”
Robbie turned red. “It-it was, yeah, no big deal.” He tried for a smile but stopped when he saw Sportacus lower her head. “Sportacus?”
Bessie let go of Sportacus, her face turning from joy to worry. “Honey? What’s the matter?”
Alarmed, Stephanie stepped aside to let Robbie through. The other kids tried to shuffle forward to see what was wrong, but Milford said something about blowing up more balloons and ushered them inside the hall. Stephanie and Bessie only followed when Robbie waved them to go.
Sportacus had yet to look up. She covered her face with her hands. Afraid he had messed up, Robbie gently wrapped his hands around her wrists. “Oh Sport... don’t cry...” He pulled her hands from her face and let out a small squeak when she surged forward to hug him tightly.
“T-Thank you, Robbie,” she sobbed into his shoulder. “You have been... so supportive this whole time.”
“I- Um, it’s all part of my dastardly plan to feed the kids junk!” said Robbie, unconvincingly. “The cake inside is FULL of sugar...”
He stopped talking when he felt more than heard Sportacus chuckle against him. “I guess I will have to go in and stop them eating too much then,” she said. She pulled away, wiping her cheeks with one hand and slipping her other hand into Robbie’s. “Thank you.”
Face red, Robbie could only nod and guide Sportacus into town hall. “Attention, everyone!” He called once they reached the doorway. “I present to you, the lady of the hour!”
Sportacus beamed as everyone clapped and cheered. Once again, Stephanie ran forward and hugged her. This caused Sportacus to let go of Robbie’s hand. Any very-not-villainous disappointment Robbie might have felt melted away when Sportacus took his hand again once Stephanie let go.
“Now is probably not a good time to tell you that blue is still my favorite color,” Sportacus told her sheepishly, looking around at the pink table clothes, balloons, and steamers.
Stephanie grinned. “I know. But a bit of pink now and then isn’t so bad!”
With a laugh, Sportacus ventured further into the party, never once letting go of Robbie’s hand.
