spider-woman (petra parker) villains react to her coming out as trans
kingpin: ...this changes nothing.

carnage: [sprinting down the street on all fours holding the first syllable of a slur like piccolo charging his special beam cannon] fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffFFFFFFFAGGOTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!

I Only Feel Safe In Your Arms (Peter Parker x Wade Wilson)
Ideas:
Peter swung from a building, straight into Wades arms.
---
When he tells Wade why he drew away from his friends, why they were safer without him, why he didn't deserve them, he called bullshit. He made him call them and meet up and explain himself.
---
He uses toilet paper and duck tape because he couldn't afford a binder.
---
"Alright Einstein." Spidey whipped his around so quick Wade was afraid he broke his neck.
"Don't call me that." He said so harshly it actually gave Wade pause. He hasn't even sounded this mad when he called him baby boy. So Wade paused, considering his friends tense shoulders and fisted hands, and nodded slowly.
"Alright. Sorry." He didn't relax, but his tone was softer.
"Thank you."
---
"Coming in hot!" Spidey yelled, and Deadpool immediately braced himself. The next second he had planted his hands on his shoulders from behind and flew over his head in the splits, tackling whoever was in front of Wade.
---
"Heyyy buddy! How you doin-"
It's face opened up sideways, revealing a hole walled with chainsaw teeth stained with grimy blood and pieces of flesh.
"Oh shit! Uh-uh hell no!!! DEADPOOL!!!" He webs the mouth before swinging in the opposite direction. "DEADPOOL IM SCARED WHAT IS THIS SHIT???"
---
"Son of a bitch!" Deadpool cursed the stove.
"My mother was lovely, actually." Peter commented from the window, making Wade jump. He flipped inside, inspecting the room. "Or, so I'm told."
---
Peter goes to the Laundromat on Sunday like usual in a baggy black tank top stained with bleach and paint, and basketball shorts that had definitely seen better days. No one else was there but a mom and her toddler who was crying helplessly. Peter felt like crying too.
You tell 'em buddy.
He just finished putting his colored into the wash when the bell rang again. Shutting the washing machine door and turning around to lean against it with his elbows, Peter's eyes fell on the newcomer. It was a large figure in a hoodie that bulged at the arms and baggy jeans. Man, the guy looked ripped. Peter didn't realize he had been staring until the man turned, their eyes meeting. He had a surgical mask on the bottom half of his face, but from what Peter could see his skin was scarred. Bad.
Peter smiled awkwardly, because he hadn't had a lot of reason to smile lately. He was out of practice.
He couldn't tell what expression the other man wore, probably weirded out or confused, so Peter looked away, pushing up to his hands so he could hop on top of the machine behind him.
Wade watches his ass when he bends down to pick up his laundry.
Then he sees the bruise on his jaw.
"What's a pretty thing like you doing with a bruise like that?" He found himself asking. The man turned to him in confusion. When Wade nodded to his face, he brought a hand up and felt it, blushing immediately.
It had been from the villain of the week who had gotten a lucky shot between his and Deadpool's banter, but he didn't need to know that. He couldn't help himself from feeling hot at the fact that Wade noticed, and then the thought that he seemed to care even outside of the masks. But if course he did. That was just Wade.
"Oh, I uh..." He chuckled sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck for the affect. He had gotten somewhat good at lying over the years. His secret identity would be shit without it. (It had gone to shit before and people had payed). "I was trying a new trick on my board and ate shit."
Wade looked skeptical until Peter was so distracted by his gaze that he tripped over a laundry basket and he had to catch him.
(Peter sees his eyes and recognizes them instantly. He's only seen them once, when Wades mask got blown off and he waited for him to heal.)
As the twink left, he smiled and waved with his laundry bag over his shoulder.
"See you around, Wade!"
He had never introduced himself.
---
Peter rushed out in his suit, but was still wearing his hello kitty pajama pants. Deadpool happens to be there and he squeals.
"Oh em gee Spidey!! I have the exact same pair!" He gasped. "Did you steal from my closet again?" He scorned playfully.
"Uh, no 'pool. I was...in a rush." He says as he flips through the air.
---
"I love you."
Peter didn't look like he knew what to say.
"Uh, thank you." he winced. "Sorry, that- that wasn't..."
---
"My aunt...Aunt May. She's...she was the best person I ever knew."
Wade stared at him, expression thoughtful.
"I know someone like that." He said once Peter met his eyes. Tears welled up immediately.
---
Wade fucking loves burritos.
(Ode to burritos, then fight)
(Deadpool is skipping along, eating a burrito, when something blue and red zip past. He pauses, leaning dramatically to the side to see a body hunched over in a crater in a building.
Deadpool gasped.
"Spidey!"
The figure groaned, falling forward and barely catching himself, and Deadpool approached.
"Hey, Spider-Man, you good bro?"
"Hgnn."
"I'll take that as a maybe."
("Please tell me you're not with him."
"Who?"
A roar in the distance.
"Ohhhhh him. Yeah no, I usually just do my own thing."
A pause, then Spidey looked at him, his masked eyes squinting.
"You any good with those swords?"
Wade gasped. "Bea and Arthur are not just here for their good looks! Although they do add to the Deadpool charm." He winked.
How did he wink through leather?
"Deadpool?" He repeated.
"That's my name, don't wear it out! Are do, I don't mind." And somehow he was wiggling his eyebrows. Okay.
"Great- that's, uh, great. Okay, can you back me up?"
"Oh I can back you up any-"
"Deadpool!" Spidey snapped, before lunging at him and shooting a web, pulling him out of the way just as a big green thing rammed into the building.
"I love it when you scream my name!" He sang. Spidey groaned, and boy did that do things for the merc.
"Why?" Spider-Man bemoaned, barely heard over the wind, and Wade wouldn't have heard if his head wasn't tucked into the vigilante's neck. "Why me?"
(Peter is leaning over his knees, panting, before he looks at Wade through his periphery.
"Who did you say you were again?" He huffed.
"Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth, Wade Winston Wilson, at your service!" He bowed dramatically, holding out a hand. Slowly, Peter accepted it.
"Spider-Man." He returned tiredly.
"Oh, I know who you are, pumpkin."
---
Wade notices that while on patrol with Spidey that he has a particular hard spot for rapists and abusers. And not in the fun way.
He would get all quiet after the victim fled, or was a safe distance away, his head hung low and his figure more imposing than Wade had ever seen him. His fists would clench, and before anyone could move, he'd punch the creep hard enough to lose a few teeth, usual ending with a broken jaw by the end of things. He'd punch them over and over and over until the red of his suit was darker and the creep was a bloody pulp. A lot of people thought those monsters had been a victim of Daredevil, not their friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
Spidey was always off for the rest of the night on those days, quieter, mumbling instead of quipping back at Wade, his shoulders hunching and always flinching at things Wade couldn't perceive.
Obviously his spider had personal experience with rapists and pedos. He'd never seen him beat the shit out of anyone as much as he did them. It hurt Wade and made him angry to think about the snarky, strong, brilliant Spider-Man at the hands of someone so awful.
---
Peter started pushing people away after May died. He was still friends with MJ and Ned, and they tried, but he took out his grief through Spider-Man. When Skip...does what he does, he isn't himself, and ignores them all. They all get into MIT, and heal a bit, but Peter prioritizes Spider-Man over his relationships. He and MJ break up, and they're more or less friends. They keep in touch over the years, but they're not as close.
Then he is drawn to Gwen, who just gets him in a way he's never experienced. She works with Oscorp, and Oscorp is doing a special program at MIT. Even though he already has an internship with Stark, it's a great program, so he joins.
He meets Dr. Conners. It doesn't go well. In that event, Mr. Osborn discovers his identity, and then green goblin, and Gwen dies. Then Green Goblin dies. But then Harry Osborn, who he had been getting closer to through the internship (slight crush) goes crazy and wants to kill Spider-Man.
Peter doesn't have much in the world of friends anymore. He avoids it whenever he can, though Tony is different. Tony has survived so much, had created and managed amazing things. But Peter feels like he has to be strong around Tony. Not because of anything he did, but that was just Peter's mentality. He feels very alone.
---
Peter often dreams of falling.
The people he cares about fall with him.
He has no webs. No costume. He can do nothing by scream silently into the wind.
He watches those he love fall to the ground, their spines break, their skulls crack, their eyes pop, blood and bones and screams. Everywhere.
He wakes before he can touch the ground, usually on the ceiling.
---
"Are we about to kiss?" Deadpool gasped.
---
Deadpool has only crazy straws.
---
[WORK THROUGH]
Peter wanted to be as normal as possible, at least in his normal life. So he got an apartment in Queens to honor his aunt and uncle, had the Stark Internship, and swung around New York or took photos when he wasn't working. And if he forgot to get groceries? He could go to the tower and grab lunch. If he ran out of materials to fix he suit? He went to the tower.
But when he goes to another universe and meets two alternate versions of himself, only to come back and no one remembers him?
Man, that was awkward. Now Stark is hunting Spider-Man, and Peter has been wiped from Tony's AI, so he doesn't even have the "internship".
He started selling photos to the daily bugle of Spider-Man and anyone else who's willing to hire a freelance photographer for weddings and other events. He scraping by in ways he hasn't needed to since before the bite, but now he can hardly feed himself or his super metabolism. He's running behind on rent, and he's having to stretch money and food so he can fix his suit since NOW is apparently the perfect time to attack New York.
The Avengers are on his tail, he's starving, and he's just trying to figure out why any of this happened in the first place.
Who knew a Canadian mercenary would be the answer?
---
Peter used just a bit of his super strength to get every last drop of his toothpaste.
---
He gets poked in the mask of his eye and pretends it hurts.
"Ow, my eye!" He holds his face, then shoots them in the face. "Nevermind, I'm better."
---
"Yeah, it's a shit hole." Spider-Man shrugged. "But it's my shit hole."
---
Peter slowly unfurled from his web, reaching for the flowers Wade offered with hesitation.
"Are these... for me?" He asked softly.
"I don't see anyone else worthy of 'em, sweetums."
The lenses of his mask widenened, and Wade could almost see the blush through his mask.
"No one's ever..." As he trailed off, his fingers wrapped around their stems, brushing against Wades, and he pulled away as though he would snatch them back at the last second. "Thank you." He was so painfully sincere that Wade had to fight the urge to wrap him up in blankets and protect him from the rest of the world.
Instead, he just brought up a hand, and very slowly pressed it to the tip of Peter's nose.
"Boop."
---
"Don't worry, my bones broke the fall." He groaned.
---
"You never got proper training?"
"Bleeding out in my apartment is a pretty good reminder of what not to do. I learn. Eventually."
---
The Avengers see Spider-Man as an unknown variable. All records of him are new, stemming from when he broke into the tower, but he seems trained. Capable. He's a vertan, but of the superhero life or otherwise, they don't know.
A defining factor is his relationship with Deadpool, aka Wade Wilson, the merc for hire. This does not bode well for Spider-Man.
---
The first time Wade makes Spidey laugh is one he has on his calendar. Not a polite chuckle or a blood-loss induced giggle. This was dragged out of his chest with snorts and desolved into a low cackle that didn't stop for a good three minutes. It put their super villains to shame.
---
Peter pauses as he shimmies on his suit for patrol, feeling a struggle.
His suit is too small.
Peter grins.
His suit is too small.
He's gaining weight. Muscle. Food.
He feels healthy.
---
"Spider emdash man!"
"Uh oh. The government name."
---
"Oh my god, I can't believe you fell for that." He said delighted.
---
"Come on Itsy Bitsy." They taunted. Peter felt every muscle in his body coil, rage simmering under his skin.
"Oh, Itsy Bitsy's gone now." He cracked his knuckles. "You're dealing with Spider-Man now."
"Wha-" Their next words are buried in the pavement.
---
After he returned, he started sharing dreams with the others. All of their 'top hits' and traumas.
---
"cmon, bug."
"Spider. It's in the name."
---
When they hug they take turns lifting each other off the ground.
---
"Man, shut the hell up." Flash, who had been hidden behind his locker previously, slammed his locker door shut in front of the guy, catching him by surprise. It didn't last long.
"What? She-"
"Your insecurities are showing." MJ deadpanned, suddenly right beside Peter, and making Danny whirl on her, mouth open as he scoffed, but then he saw Flash step toward him with his broad frame and withering scowl, and scampered off.
"Just- stay outta my way, Penny."
Peter sighed.
"Thanks," he muttered, turning to Flash.
"Whatever, Parker." He huffed, stalking off in the opposite direction. Flash wasn't as bad as he used to be ever since Uncle Ben died and Peter almost took out his anger on Flash. They gained a new understanding for each other, but Flash wouldn't go so far as to be nice to Peter. So he'd said, once. But he'd never stoop so low as to target him for being trans, and didn't stand for people who did, with anyone.
How Spider-Man Villains Would React to Trans Spider-Woman
I saw a comedic take on this post but I wanted to do my own crack on it based on all of the useless comic book lore taking up space in my head.
Black Cat: She would still be attracted to a trans Spider-Woman, not only because she is bisexual but she also had flirtatious banter with one of the few canonically trans characters in the Marvel universe, Jessie Drake, in Marvel's Voices: Pride #1.
Carnage: It's hard to say definitively but probably not accepting.
Chasm (Ben Reilly): Setting aside that I guess Ben would also be transitioning in this continuity, this is kind of like asking, 'is Spider-Man accepting'? We're going to ignore transphobic banter from Spider-Man in the late 1990s to early 2000s, and instead focus on the aforementioned Marvel's Voices: Pride #1, where Spider-Man shows up as a guest speaker at the Super Trans support group. Honestly, I think Ben would probably be happy about the Spider-Woman development because then he could have an uncontested claim for the mantle of Spider-Man, if he's even interested in doing that anymore and blah blah.
Doctor Octopus: Doc Ock is unfortunately a bigot in numerous ways, including mutants and clones (ironically enough given how he's alive right now) and similar to the Green Goblin, women. I think Doc Ock would be bigoted from a 'scientific' perspective e.g. 'um you are biologically male and can't change your chromosomes' etc. etc.
Green Goblin: He is a raging misogynist and would likely regard a trans Spider-Woman as failing to be a surrogate son for him, especially the Ultimate (Earth-1610) version of the character. He would not accept her at all.
Kingpin: Kingpin actively dealt in black market hormones synthesized by a trans woman in his employ. This was, of course, Charlene McGowan (Immortal Hulk #24). Kingpin would thus probably accept trans Spider-Woman, and maybe suggest she's harming all of his paying customers for a 'legitimate business' that fills a crucial niche, or question the ethics of Spidey's pal Daredevil sending McGowan to prison (a legitimate question).
Queen Goblin: She has formal education in practicing psychiatry so she would probably be at least familiar with being accepting of trans patients, however because she is an evil demonic monster who preys on the insecurities of her opponents, she would probably intentionally weaponize dysphoria against Spider-Woman.
The Punisher: Kind of cheating here but it seems relevant. So like... The Punisher has canonically murdered multiple trans women, if I'm not mistaken. Probably a frosty reception at best.
Venom: Setting aside past cringe writing that I'm sure exists, the Venom symbiote is agender and probably would be indifferent to Spider-Woman's transition from an alien perspective. Eddie Brock, the symbiote's most common host, also seems like he'd be accepting given that whatever he has going on with the Venom symbiote seems pretty queer, but this is admittedly flimsy. This is a friendly (neighborhood) reminder that Eddie and Venom have been sexually intimate with one another in the comics and have said they love each other, textually.
That's all off the top of my dome, thank you for coming to my talk.
Summary: Peter binds for too long while out patrolling. When he visit's his girlfriend, Gwen notices and is concerned to say the least.
notes: I decided to write a small oneshot! This is my first Spiderman one. It takes place around 2-3 months after the events in Andrew Garfield's 'The Amazing Spider-Man'.
It was close to midnight and Peter was swinging by Gwen’s apartment. He had finished his nightly patrol and was just going over to say goodnight. As he swung through the buildings of New York, he felt a sharp pain in his ribs, reminding him that he hadn’t taken a binding break yet. He groaned, knowing if Gwen found out, she’d possibly withhold all his binder’s and bandages. He knew it was because she cared, and he honestly felt really glad that she did. She was amazing and Peter loved her.
Soon, he spotted her apartment and landed on the fire escape. Gwen was studying hard at her desk and had the blind’s closed so she could focus. Peter took off his mask and knocked on the window. Right away, Gwen knew it was him, due to a secret knock they had. She opened the blinds, saw it was him and smiled before opening the window.
“Hey Pete,” She greeted him.
“Hey,” Peter smiled. She moved out of the way to let him in through the window. He climbed in and stood next to her before giving her a kiss on the lips.
“What are you doing here, Peter?” She asked when they pulled away from the kiss. She wasn’t upset that he was there, but she’d usually like a heads up before he stopped by.
“Thought I should stop by and say goodnight on my way home,” He tried his best not to wheeze or wince as he talked. The pain in his ribs was starting to get intense. But he was Spider-Man. He stopped a giant man lizard thing from taking over the city 2 months ago. Surely he could deal with a bit of discomfort.
Gwen kissed him again, but more passionately. Even though Peter smelled like sweat and his skin was salty, she didn’t care. She loved her boyfriend. As they kissed, she put a hand on Peter’s chest, a gesture she often did. Peter enjoyed feeling like his chest was flat, so having Gwen put a hand on it when it was binded made him feel a bit euphoric. That’s how the gesture started becoming more of a habit since they usually only made out when he was binding.
However, when Gwen put a hand on his chest, she felt that it was flat. Earlier that day after school, it was flat just like this, telling her that Peter hadn’t taken his binder off. She pulled away with a disappointed and concerned look on her face.
“What?” Peter asked, noticing the hesitation.
“You’re wearing your binder,” she pointed out.
“Yeah, I am,” Peter decided to say. He knew he couldn’t argue with that.
“You’re not supposed to be working out in it, Pete. Especially since you wore it after school today,” Gwen lightly scolded. Since Peter wore a lot of layers and baggy clothes, he could easily hide his chest at school. But whenever it was just him and Gwen, he liked to have the binder on.
“I know, but this suit is just a bit too tight. If I don’t bind, everyone will think Spider-Man is Spider-Woman,” He stated.
“No one is going to think that. You wear a packer and have a small chest. If anything, people will think you’ve got pecks. Trust me, Peter, it’s going to be alright. No one will be paying attention to your chest,” Gwen assured him. They sat down on her bed as she hugged him.
“Now, you go take a shower and I’m gonna go see if I can find some of my dad’s old clothes,” She started. Peter was about to bud in, but she cut him off, “I know how you feel about my dad, but trust me, it’s okay. He would’ve been fine if you wore them,”
She gave him another kiss to reassure him and got up to go to her mom’s room where they kept all of her dad’s clothes they had yet to give away. As she did that, Peter took out his phone and texted his Aunt May that he would be sleeping over at Gwen’s house. She had a night shift so she was okay with this only because she didn’t like it when Peter spent the night alone, even though he was 17.
Peter got up from the bed and went into Gwen’s bathroom and turned on the shower. Gwen came in a few moments later to drop off a towel and a baggy white t-shirt with some old paint stains on it. She’s seen him naked before but made sure to be quick and not look just in case he was feeling uncomfortable or dysphoric.
When he was done showering, he scrubbed his suit in the sink and hung it up to dry so he could wear it again in the morning. He walked out of the bathroom in his boxer briefs and a shirt and climbed into bed with Gwen, who was already in her pajamas. Right when he laid down, he realized how sore and tired he was. He immediately snuggled up with his girlfriend.
“Night, Peter,” Gwen whispered.
“G’ni…” Peter mumbled, the exhaustion taking over him. Gwen smiled, turned off the lamp and kissed his forehead.
