Fanfic idea: Subaru experiments with dressing up more feminine in secret with only Beatrice being in the know, before fully deciding to trans her gender once and for all. So she comes out to Beatrice and has a brief mental breakdown over telling literally anyone else, but Beatrice is like "Betty's Subaru should have more faith in them, I suppose" cause obviously she's constantly surrounded by people who love her
So Subaru does go and gather everyone she's friends with (including the peeps from other camps) while being super shady about it, everyone is thinking it'll be something either super dire or not that serious, they're coming up with conspiracy theories on the fly. At some point they all convince themselves this is The Time™ they'll get a Subaru origin reveal
But then Subaru comes in, dressed up and looking like the most beautiful woman ever, and they inquire about it. Because of her own nerves, her inability to figure out a way to explain what being trans is to people from this other world, and also due to not understanding it too well as Japanese citizen from the year 2012, instead of coming out normally she just says:
"I'm a girl now!"
And then absolutely refuses to elaborate
Subaru Natsuki looking exactly like his mother. He has insecurities about being compared to his father and he wants to become his own person. He also has slight pride in his similarities to his mother. It's really interesting to think about how it builds upon his presentation.
Subaru, having pride in one of his only talents being sewing, aware that it's a feminine hobby is interesting to me. It's a further scene showing Subaru's admiration for femininity that's shown in his identity by his longing for his appearance as an androgynous child.
More trans Subaru evidence. He automatically takes pride in the idea that kids like him due to 'motherly'/feminine traits he tries to keep bottled in that still display.
Come on Subaru, you know you want to wear the maid's outfit. Don't ignore your desires smh.
Subaru comes across so envious of Rem and Ram's maid dresses as if he wants to wear them himself.
