Sylvie was content with the timeline she’d chosen for herself. There wasn’t anything she wanted to change about it. She liked her job. She liked her stop at the record store after her shift, with the employee who knew her first name but not much else. She liked having the same beer at the same bar, with the regulars who greeted her but mostly left her alone. For the first time since her childhood, she liked life. It was quiet, it was uneventful, and it was directionless, but it was hers. No one bothered her here. She was grateful she’d been able to find the same timeline again, and she wasn’t about to begrudge Loki’s sacrifice that had enabled her to do so.

That is, until her TVA acquaintances start showing up at her McDonalds' job, making her question everything.

Gods damn it.

Five Miscellaneous Loki Headcanons

Loki is a vegetarian: I've just read so many fics where he's tired of the meat-heavy Asgardian diet and disgusted by the manners, that I've accepted it into my canon.

Loki and Thor were pretty typical siblings as children. They were best friends, being so close in age, and I imagine being royal children gets rather lonely. But at the same time, they had very different personalities that often clashed in fights and bursts of mischief (on Loki's end).

Thor was the first person Loki came out as genderfluid to. Thor was also the first person Sylvie came out as trans to.

Loki didn't steal the Tesseract in Ragnarok for ambitious or mischievous purposes. He took it because he knows it's not going to be destroyed in Surtur's fire, and it's just going to be floating around in space amongst the debris of Asgard, ripe for the taking by Thanos. At least if Loki has it, Thanos has to go through him (if he intended to run after Ragnarok), as well as Thor, Heimdall, Valkyrie, and the Hulk (if he stays by Thor's side). I don't know what I think he initially intended to do after he grabbed the Tesseract, to run or stay with Thor, or if he even thought it through past "keep it away from Thanos."

If he did actually die on the Statesman, he meant to die. He usually has back-up plans on top of back-up plans, and ultimately he only tried like three times to stop Thanos. So I think the plan was to die, to distract Thanos into taking the Tesseract and leaving without killing Thor. The greater good reason for this was so that Thor would be alive to help stop Thanos in the end, but I'm not sure if Loki was thinking that far. The selfish reason was to keep his brother safe.

OKAY HEAR ME OUT.

she's grown up in apocalypses- places where no one can remember her. where she can't make a mark on the world or the timeline. sylvie has never had a lasting relationship or friendship with anyone since she has to keep jumping to a new timeline. if she is spotted and makes a mark on someone or a place, the tva will find her.

it's genuinely so sad, and so justified on why she hates the tva so much and 'selfishly' just wants to live. like addie, she is invisible to the world and had to spend years, centuries even, growing up in the destruction and death of countless people.

all they both want to do is experience the joys of life, and have true relationships. to make a mark on this world (in sylvie's case, causing chaos and burning the tva to the ground). even if that's just working at mcdonald's and listening to records, she savours those moments. the bartender who knows her usual, the record store manager who calls her by her name, the boy working at the mcdonald's who admires her.

she finally has a timeline to enjoy, and she's not being hunted by an organization that wants to kill her for what? her crimes? for being who she is? her nexus event was (in my opinion, i strongly believe this) becoming a girl. they would prune her for 'crimes against the sacred timeline' because the timeline decrees her to stay male for the rest of her life.

(this also explains the lack of genderfluid lokis in this universe because hwr really said- nah make the lokis all male-presenting)

when a version, a young 8-year-old sylvie, decides she is a girl and shapeshifts into one, the tva takes her and destroys her entire life just because another universe has people with unique thoughts and feelings. she grows up without any lasting relationships, in apocalypses, invisible and wanting to live.

just like addie.

this is spiralling into a sylvie rant and i didn't even mention addie that much but you get what i'm saying. they're also both bisexual and when they meet a certain dark-haired person who is a twin soul that's had a terrible deal as well, they lean on each other and form a bond.

tl;dr sylvie and addie are both invisible, can't make any lasting relationships, and just want to live when they were screwed over at a young age.
