You know, when I came out and changed my name, people were pissed. I got fussed at for it, but the thing that sticks with me is what my dad said.

“Your name is a gift.“

And I told him I didn’t disagree. Because just like most gifts, it’s exchangeable.

1. “I’m glad I could support you in your transgender”.

2. “You’re trans? That’s cool! Girls look great in boxers!”

3. “Binders flatten your chest slowly and eventually, you won’t even need top surgery.”

4. “Why do you have to be trans? Just be gay.”

5. “ You are a misogynist!”

6. “Can I still call you *dead name*?”
