Halloween with the Transformers

(Bayverse) Optimus Prime x Reader Headcanons (Non-Gender Specific)

He honestly could care less about holidays themselves, what he feels really matters is the time you spend celebrating with the ones you love, so that's what he focuses on doing. Anything you want to do he's game for as long as it's nothing dangerous or anything that could potentially be dangerous.. he's a bit protective. Though Halloween festivities have a special place in his heart and he does enjoy them, what he remembers most from this fall season is your smile, so genuine and full of life, he'll do anything to see it again and again and again.. so he goes out of his way to.

Anything that brings you joy or that he thinks will bring you joy is on his agenda, he considers every little thing about you when setting up seasonal dates. Hobbies, likes, dislikes, health, and how willing you are to go into public spaces. He often finds a nice middle ground, instead of setting up a date in public like eating at a restaurant, he instead orders the food to go and sets up a nice little Autumn picnic for the two of you to enjoy.. it tends to be one of his favorites. He likes watching that child like wonder in your eyes as you watch the flowing Autumn leaves float through the air and land on him, sometimes it even earns him a giggle or two. And that is the best reward he can ever receive.

Oddly enough, he's very fond of cookouts for dates, during all seasons and holidays he insists on having at least one. He finds that the games like cornhole, frisbee, and arts and crafts reminds him of what he's fighting for.. it's also something he longs to feel. Family, to feel the closeness humans feel and to finally be able to put his guard down and just enjoy his time with you, forever. These few moments you two share are ones he cherishes and enjoys every second of, but if you don't want to he'll happily do something else, he gets the same amount of contentment just being in your company.. hopefully holding you in some way. He's quite the love bug, he wants all your attention and he wants to give you all of his when he can.

And that shows as the weather causes mucky wet days and bone chilling wind, the once crispy leaves are now soggy and their colors dulled. He takes the opportunity to try to convince you to cuddle with him or perhaps to just sit and watch TV with him. He doesn't really care about what you two watch.. but he does like light hearted children's cartoons if he's forced to decide instead of doing everything you want for once. Honestly, that mech, you have to force him to have some things for himself some times. Silly bot. He gives you his everything, that's for sure.

Though his metal is usually oddly warm as compared to the normal cool to the touch metal, he still always tries to put a blanket between you both to ensure your safety.. not necessarily protecting you from being cold as much as being scorched by the rising heat emmiting from his chassis. He's more than aware of how flustered you make him just by even being in his presence, his fans begin to whirr loudly and his metal gets so hot he's fears he's going to somehow melt himself like a popsicle. So that being said, when you cuddle with him, your arms wrapping around him attentively, your tiny form engulfing his chest or face, he just about overheats. Occasionally he'll even need to get some frozen vegetables and plop them on his forehead to try to calm down.. That trick usually works, unless you softly place them on his forehead for him and mumble sweet nothings to him in an attempt to calm him down, then he just about melts the plastic bag which contains said, probably now steaming, veggies.

He makes an effort to "spookify" the base.. his words, not yours. By putting a few little decorations he's found here and there about. He's forbade the other Autobots from going into general human population in their holomatter forms in fear of capture and or attack, so he views that he himself is the only mech that should risk such a thing. (None of them listen, they all still go into stores and are perfectly fine, he's paranoid for good reason, but a bit overboard at times.) Some oddly cute spiders in a neatly stretched web in the corner of the room, cute fake vines covered in autumn leaves draped over various furniture items and even some draping down the wall, and a few very nice fluffy thick blankets for you and others (needy chilly mechs who just got back from a mission that seek comfort and warmth) to use. The blankets have to be your favorite of all, they're all king sized and so thick you wonder where he even managed to find them. So soft and plush with some of the cutest designs, little pumpkins in a patch with a little brown kitty cat.. oddly enough not a black one, you suppose it's more of an Autumn blanket, a black cat wearing a little red bow on a cream colored back drop, and a few other amazing finds. They're all themed and not too spooky, just perfect for the tastefully decorated place you now call home.

He also managed to find a few really good hand soaps for you to use.. however some other bots have gotten into the habit of stealing them and using them too.. on their bodies. Despite various reprimands for stealing your stuff, they do it nontheless and Optimus now always buys several of the same soap scents if he can in order to counteract their deviant ways.

Speaking of things for you, he continuiously has little surprise Easter esque Halloween baskets for you to find. He always tries to be there when you find them so he can see your reaction, but sometimes he has business to attend to so he half heartedly accepts that he won't be able to see your beautiful face light up with glee when you see them.. but he'll picture it as he takes care of his tasks. Though he usually sets the baskets in plain sight, sometimes he hides them just to spice it up and he's very good at hiding them too. If you cannot find one within the time window he deems fit, then you owe him a big fat kiss.. after said kiss he'll show you where it was and give it to you, a wide wholesome smile spread across his features, optics soft and taking in everything about you as they flicker from one side to the other.. he just likes to see you happy.

If you pester him enough he might take a nice hot festive bubble bath with you in whatever makeshift tub you can come up with, and he'll love it too. The warmth enveloping him and sinking deep into his achey joints after a long day of galavanting about, it heals his body, soul, and mind. You softly caressing his plating and slowly washing him off as he softly scrubs you clean in soothing circular motions.. that's enough to make even the hardiest of mechs melt. The scented bubble bath liquid was a nice touch too, nice and autumny, he quite liked that. And though he won't admit it openly, he liked the bubbles as well. He took them in his hands and squashed them with his fingers, listening to the sounds they made as they popped, put some on your head and chuckled, and as he laid there relaxing he kept softly grazing the top of them with his free hand, just feeling them. He's a bubble man, you can pester him about it all you want to but he won't admit it unless you're completely alone and he's feeling very sleepy and comfy.

He goes to the Halloween cookout you planned for the mechs, of course. (They all do, some complain mildly about it but otherwise they all love it.) He stays right by your side like a loyal puppy the whole time, helping you with tasks but also begrudgingly leaves your side to partake in some activities like trick or treating at the little stations you set up and spooking each other. (After you insisted, only then he will leave. Though he would very clearly rather just be by your side, he still enjoys these little games and what not and thanks you later for making him participate.) Though he has no spooky stories to share, he listens attentively as you share some you made up. Some other bots got a bit frightened, he did not. He's too old to be scared by tall tales.

At the end of the night he rests his face against your torso, feeling and listening to the soft rise and fall of your chest and your strong healthy heartbeat, feeling so happy that he got to experience this wonderful season with you and how he can't wait till he gets to do it again next year. He's already plotting new things to try and making mental notes as he drifts off to sleep.

Hey, so, would anyone be interested in a month of Transformers Spooky Prompts for Halloween?

(This isn't the best calendar, I know, I got off shift like an hour ago LMAO. It exported with some of the text all wonky, I don't know why and I'm too tired to fix it at the moment.)

There's no obligation to do all of them or whatever (it's not a challenge), but rather, here are just some fun thematic Transformers prompts for October! You can draw, write, make whatever if any of these happen to inspire you. :)

The first three weeks are horror-related or concepts that could be considered scary in some way from across various TF media throughout the years,

The fourth week contains more broad horror themed prompts based on scary tropes etc. found in at least one TF series,

And the last three days are character based prompts for the spider-themed characters!

I whipped this up pretty quickly off the top of my head, but let me know if this might be a fun thing to do! :)

My birthday is 03 Oct, so I wanted to do something fun for my birthday month with everyone. <3

I'm hoping this concept might make for a decent event month! :)

Terror Transformed - A Transformers Halloween Event!

Rules and Details

The event is running from 01/10/23 to 31/10/23.

1) Submissions can be made at any point during the month of October, so don't worry about having to get something done within the day-- As long as your work is submitted on or before 31/10/23, it counts!

That having been said, if you want to do a sketch a day, go for it! You have the entire month of October to make whatever you'd like. :)

Writing, art, and any other types of works are welcome.

You can submit any work to the event by using the tag "Terror Transformed". I'll reblog any submissions to this blog, to help keep everything together!

2) You do not have to participate in each day of the event. Feel free to pick whichever prompts/dates appeal to you most!

3) Scary and creepy are good; It's a Halloween event, after all! (That having been said, don't feel obligated to push yourself beyond what you may be comfortable with!) <3

4) Please tag any horror content appropriately-- For example, "Body Horror", "Vampires", "Robo Gore", and so on.

I really want to do something fun for everyone since October is my birthday month and who doesn't love Spooky Season, so I hope this can be a fun event for anyone who wants to participate! <3
