This past month in Houston, the city council and the mayor passed a gender equality ordinance which allows transgender people to use the bathroom of the sex they identify with. I am so extremely happy for this progress, but it makes me sad to read the venom and hatred others have towards Mayor Parker (who is a lesbian). They refuse to see how this is helping people who have been ostracized by both the straight and gay communities. They think this is a freebie for sexual predators to attack women and children. Do they not realize this happens already? I really hope these people can see the positive of this situation and open their minds to progress. These same people claim to be Christian yet don't want to allow the trans community to exist. I thought you were supposed to love thy neighbor and not judge others.
