Inktober day 2 - Tranquil
The Sandbox (Transistor).
I FINALLY FINISHED TRANSISTOR AND I honestly want to just restart it right away. wow. i love it so much. and that game play was that sick kind of difficult. and omfg the pics at the end. I'm going to cry .
You know what, since I already brought it up, let’s play book promotion.
I am currently reading “Transitor” by Molly J. Bragg. It is the second book in the Heart of Heroes series, but can be read as a standalone (I’m 100% talking from experience here, I haven’t read “Scatter” either).
It is a trans lesbian superhero story, at which point I went “I NEED THIS”, and, well. Not the book that’s going to take over my life, but still really good. It is using Jewish mythology as a basis, so we get the whole angelic family drama, which we’ve seen multiple times already, only that here, there is a direct link made to queer people being rejected from their families, so that’s very nice.
The story is about Naomi, a young trans woman who volunteered for experimental surgery using nanobots because that was free. She does get her dream body, but the doctors forget to deactivate the nanobots, so they stay inside her and develop a kind of swarm intelligence. Naomi discovers this when she is mortally wounded on her first date with her long-term crush Anika by an angel come to kill Anika for being a Nephilim. Things kind of go from there, as Naomi gains multiple superpowers, and teams up with both angels and her old one-night stand, who works with superheroes.
I still have got little over seventy pages to go, but yeah. It is a good read, and Tumblr being Tumblr, I could see how some people here would LOVE to hear about this.
You just went to visit the Devil in Los Angeles. I guarantee you that EVERYONE reading this was expecting a nightclub.

Bell Works, Holmdel, NJ, formerly Bell Labs where it was a research and development facility for 44 years. The centerpiece of the campus is an Eero Saarinen designed structure that served as the home to over 6,000 engineers and researchers. dubbed "The Biggest Mirror Ever" by Architectural Forum, due to its mirror box exterior. Here the first working transistor was built.
