"Why are you like this? Why don’t you understand my heart—" A loud whine of frustration escapes her lips as she clenches her fists, tightening the grip on her new script. TV drama’s weren’t difficult for the most part, they usually all followed the same formula. Naturally, this meant that a number of phrases that cropped up in these mainstream high school themed love stories were insanely cringe-worthy. Not that it ever mattered much, her roles in those types of dramas had been limited to the ‘villainous’ characters or the comic relief — until now.
It was an honour to be casted as a main role, and she’d never undermine that. Albeit, she was stressed with the prospect of acting in a romantic mind frame. Romance, especially in the innocent, fluffy approach, felt alien — it’s difficult enough acting as a character you feel is two dimensional, but to then top it off with something you don’t even believe in (Lucia was convinced love is some sort of conspiracy) — it defiantly was a challenge.
Still, she was not one to shy away. Taking a deep breathe, the young actress strived to calm her nerves and to get back on top of it all. Frankly, if she could own this line there would be nothing to worry about (at least for this weeks filming) but that was a big if. Lucia debated with the idea of maybe taking a break; you know, getting a hot drink or just breathing in some fresh air. It was a one sided battle , to say at the least, and oddly content with here reasoning behind escaping she set the slightly wrinkled sheets down on a stool.
Stretching her arms out with a small grunt, she span around only to be met with the sight of an oddly familiar face (where had she seen him before?), whose eye’s bore into her own. Brows knitting together, nose scrunching up as it often does when she’s taken a back by a situation, Lucia quickly succumbed to her natural reactions. With a tone blunter than a cigarette butt, she asked, "You going to tell me what you’re looking at?"
He got surprised by her bluntness and the sudden words. Not letting that show on his face, this were one of the times when being an actor helped a lot on his facial and body control, Soohyun walked away from the door, to inside the room. He stayed quiet while looking at nowhere, a thoughtful face, suddenly he stopped on his feet and looked at her.
“You should try screaming that. Grab your anger and canalize that to that sentence.” He says professionally. “Why are you like this?! Why don’t you understand my heart-?!” He raised his voice, it sounding hurt and angry, face troubled and sad.
He closes his eyes, taking a deep breath and coming back to his normal self. “Is this the right emotions to show?” He looked at her, honestly curious since he didn't knew what he was interpreting at all. He just wanted to help her since she looked frustrated with that part, and he remembered every time he had been through that, sometimes he just needed a little help to understand the feeling of the scene.
Soohyun looked at her expectantly. “Just pretend that I’m the guy your character is saying that and put all your angry and sad feelings towards it. If you don’t have any at the moment, just think of something sad or something from your past. Just use something that can give you the feeling.” He says calmly.
