This is some digital art I did awhile back. #TransRightsEqualHumanRights Today, Friday, November 20, 2020 is the Trans Day of Remembrance (#TDoR2020), Today I and many, many others seek to honor the lives of the trans people who were taken away from us. Here in the US there have been 19 trans women, almost all people of color, that have been murdered this year. This horrible statistic should spur us all on to do our part to reduce transphobia, racism and homophobia in our communities and support those working for change nationally. Here in New Mexico weβre blessed to have The Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico which works with communities across the state providing support for support groups and providing presentations on Trans issues to businesses, first responders, health care workers and mental health professionals. They also work with groups like Equality New Mexico to educate politicians, legislators, and others n state government from The governor and her staff and department heads to anyone else who asks for help. I also want to acknowledge our local group; Santa Fe Trans, Non-Binary and Gender Non-Conforming Support Group which welcomed me when I came to the first group in early Spring of 2015 and supported me ever since. Thanks for caring!
