If youre still taking asks abt trans headcanons one of my favorite is trans man will riker, post op by the time tng plays out, very confident with his body and fulfilling his longtime dream of sporting a rugged beard ^^

imagine young trans kirk on Tarsus IV having to present as female for safety reasons, because that’s what was on his ID card and the militants were heavily transphobic

trans tom though

like this is my #1 headcanon for voyager ever. and tom really doesn't like talking about it because why should it matter? but then on one mission the whole crew is invited to a party on a planet where the people are super transphobic and have a very strong gender binary. and tom gets drunk and falls down the stairs or something and when the alien doctors look at him they realize he's trans and get super angry because in their culture, nobody can change their gender no matter what. 

so the crew is forced to leave the planet and tom is completely outed and feels like shit. 

janeway has an emergency team meeting in the mess hall to discuss what happened. tom really doesn't know what to expect...

janeway says that nobody is allowed to out tom. she's really upset that his identity was forced out in the open like that and they didn't have the right to know and shouldn't share the information ever. she pats tom on the shoulder and tells him that she will always protect him no matter what.

chakotay smiles and tells tom there are so many cultures that praise trans people and he shouldn't feel bad about himself.

tuvok states that vulcans have long understood gender to be a construction, and that gender is simply used as an avenue of individuality in vulcan culture and there is nothing wrong with being trans. 

harry gives tom a light punch on the arm and says "if that's their biggest problem with you, then thank god they don't know your criminal background!" which makes tom smile.

the doctor shrugs (he already knew from tom's transferred medical records) and is annoyed that the aliens were so transphobic. 

seven doesn't really get the problem at all because personal identity is the most powerful part of individuality and if a society forces certain identities then they are no better than the borg.

neelix runs and gives tom a hug and says that tom is a man and nobody can take that away from him

but b'elanna had been sitting quietly. and tom's heart was beating fast with anxiety. he remembered how klingons felt about transgender people...he read about it once. klingons were a super binary race and did not believe anyone could change their gender. 

but b'elanna stood up and kissed him and said "i'll love you forever and i'm sorry they forced your information out like that. you're the bravest man i know"

and tom realizes that he has the greatest friends in the universe.
