Fellow Trekkies, I am doing a (sort of) academic project on the headcanon of Trans Kirk and the queer and trans discourse around Star Trek TOS. (I am trans masc myself and I've been fascinated by this for a while)
I have not been following the fandom for very long, so the timeline of Trans discourse in the community is a bit difficult to reconstruct.
Does anyone have any information about the origins of Trans Kirk? Whether in fan fictions, online communities, etc.

Sam Kirk had a younger sister. He'd always had a younger sister. He had introduced her to Spock back in their academy days. He had walked her down the aisle when she got married to Spock.
So why was Spock telling Christine that he had a husband? And just who the hell was the overly familiar man Sam had just caught Spock cheating with? Why was that so familiar face smiling at him with undisguised amusement?
Sam Kirk had a younger brother. He'd always had a younger brother, he just hadn't known.
