I rlly like the new dune movies, actually. The changes they made definitely make sense in the context of the movies. Information, that is only needed past the second book, that will be redundant, considering there'll be only three movies, was cleverly left out or changed.

One thing i do not like that much though is how they made Feyd-Rautha actually badass and scary. Like, of course showing that he is a good fighter gives more suspense to the final duel, but that also takes away from the book Feyd who is just an asshole.

He's not that good of a fighter, he just keeps cheating his way to victory. His uncle didn't try to kill him in the ring, in fact, the baron didn't even know of the ploy. Feyd-Rautha had Hawad plan the theater for him. He even had a failsafe so he was never even in danger. After Paul's "May thy knife chip and shatter", he isn't honorable and repeats the words back, nope. He goes: "Meet your death, fool." Y'know, because he's an asshole. Of course he cheats during the duel. Faints within faints. Which makes the victory even sweeter as his poisoned needle gets lodged in the floor, holding up his dead body in an embarrassing way. Feyd-Rautha died like he fought. Without honor.
